Hotels with kitchens within walking distance?

Are there any hotels within walking distance to DL that have kitchens? We like to eat in the room sometimes. We tried villas at the Grand Californian, but they are sold out.

Park Vue and Tropicanna on Harbor Blvd. both offer rooms with kitchens. Both are right across the street, 5 min walking distance. I have the Park Vue mini-suite booked for the weekend after Thanksgiving. Looks like it has a kitchenette with a full stove/oven. Haven't stayed there yet, but it looks nice. Tropicana has kitchen suites with what looks like pretty large kitchens. You can get one or two adjoining rooms. I have not stayed in the suites, but I stayed in a standard room last month and it was fine. Can't beat the location!

R.I. Maingate is quite nice and has full kitchens and many other amenties. I would never stay at PVI even if the room was given to me...just my two cents. Good luck.

vacation: a period of suspension of work, study, or other activity, usually used for rest, recreation, or travel.

I never book a room with a kitchen because then my husband would expect me to use it. LOL.

I know we could save money, but I really need the break from all that.

When I am on vacation, I do not make beds, clean the bathroom, or anything else that resembles housework. I don't even take dirty underwear back home; we pack old ones and throw them out.

I hope you find a room that you like.

I love it! :) lol ;)
Of course, some people don't pack any unmentionables, they just go commando.

:faint:

We enjoy having a kitchen, despite not cooking meals. We like the Residence Inn Maingate.

If you don't need a full kitchen, but just need a fridge, microwave, and a dining table to eat at, Anaheim Camelot Inn & Suites has that in their suite rooms. It wouldn't work for real cooking, though, just heating (or bringing in!). We used it for stuff we made like sandwiches, canned chili, etc. Having a table to eat at was really handy.

Another vote for the Residence Inn Maingate (on Clementine). The new Springhill Suites is scheduled to open this summer, if that will work for your trip dates -- there should be a mini-kitchen in each suite.

Dolphins Cove further up on S Harbor and Orangewood (approx 15 to 20 walk) have suites. We stayed there April of this year and had a great stay... There is an ART just round the corner and an ART kiosk inside the hotel .

We stayed at Desert Palms and Suites on W. Katella Ave. It is next door to the 7-11 which is on the corner of Harbor/W. Katella. It is on the same side of Harbor as the parks so no big streets to cross. It is 1/2 mile and took us about 10 minutes to walk. There is also an ART stop in front of the hotel if you want that. However to take ART from the hotel I recommend crossing Harbor and taking any ART that stops and Disney is the very next stop - just make sure you take the right ART bus coming back and it is the first stop leaving the parks.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. We had a room with two queen beds with a door that closes and a sofa bed in the living room. There was a full size stove/oven and full size refrigerator. They also had a a microwave and coffee maker. Pots, pans, dishes, and utensils are also in the room. The hotel has a decent free breakfast.

Thanks so much for the responses.

Believe it or not, I love to do laundry on vacation and I don't mind cooking. It is just not that big of a deal to me.

Is the Residence Inn within walking distance? If so, what is the walk like?

For those without health or mobility issues, the walk from the RI Maingate is not a problem -- maybe 15 minutes or so. The hotel is on the ART route, too, for those times when you don't feel like walking.

We have stayed there numerous times and we found that you spend more time wiring to cross the streets then we did walking. Depending on how you walk maybe 10 minutes. Really a nice walk.
