I am looking for a one-bedroom suite with full kitchen. Any suggestions? Summerfield suites or residence inn or any one else? Thanks

Welcome to the DIS xgao!

There are plenty of them out there. If you scroll thru the pages here on this board, you'll find tons of info on hotels with what your looking for.

Also, visit www.hotelkingdom.com for hotel descriptions, pictures, rates for the Orlando area and you'll definitely find what you are looking for. It is a very reputable discount reservation service.

Very nice places are Summerfield Suites, Vistana Villages, Vistana Resort, Marriot Grand Vista just to name a few with full kitchens.

You should also visit www.mousesavers.com for hotel info and great deals.

Enjoy the DIS and have fun planning your trip :D

Thanks Lori. I did look up some hotels in hotelkingdom site. However, there are so many to choose from and the more that I searched, the more confused I am. I am hoping someone will give me a short-cut!

your welcome. It can definitely be overwhelming.

What is your location preference? closer to WDW, to Universal, to SeaWorld?

Will you need transportation?

other than the full kitchen, what other amenities are important to you?

Price range?

I'd make a list to compare similiar properties to help you choose. I bounced back and forth for almost a year where we were going to stay because I was looking everyday at these boards. We stayed at the Vistana Villages on the south end of I-Drive, really close to SeaWorld and a 10-15 minute drive to WDW. Full kitchen, washer/dryer, living room w/entertainment center, dining table, jacuzzi in master bath, screened patio, pool, deli, gorgeous grounds, huge pool w/waterfall, quiet pool, kids play area, etc. We booked thru HK for $109. per night last April. I can definitely recommend this resort to you.

When are you planning to go?

We would like to stay close to WDW. I think we will get a rental car. Full kitchen is the only special amenity I am looking for. As far as budget is concerned, somewhere around $100 is acceptable. However, I am open to anything that is a true value.
We will be down there the first week of December.

what I read in the forum and other travel guides seem to suggest that traffic along international drive could be bad sometimes. Is this really the case? Then I'd better stay near the main gate or LBV, right?

We are going down for the first week of December also.

Someone told me NOT to stay at any hotels near International Drive, for there is a lot of crime. Is this true?

I am also looking for a hotel with a full kitchen.

:)

Try Skyauction. I got a 2 bedroom townhouse with full kitchen and 2.5 baths for $265 for a week(taxes included). No timeshare presentations. They have several to chose from.

One-bedroom suite with Summerfield Vs. Homewood Vs. Residence Inn? What are the differences? Which would you recommend? Thanks.

Have you heard of the Super 8 Motel Orlando Kissimmee Suites? It is located on 192 in Kissimmee, probably about 8-9 miles from Disney World.

This property is a little different, it seems like an apartment complex that they converted to a hotel. They have apartment-style suites that include a kitchen, living room and two private bedrooms. We were four people, so the suite was very comfortable. There is a queensize pullout in the living room, so you can probably accommodate upto 6 people if needed.

They hotel was well maintained and a great value considering the large size of the suite.

They also had an IHOP restaurant, pool, free continental breakfast and shuttle to Disney. We did not use any of these amenities however.

If you look at their website, http://www.abcsuites.com - you will see pictures of their suites. You can see from the pictures that they are quite big, like a typical apartment, rateher then a small hotel room.

Anyway, hope you find a nice place at a price you are comfortable with. Also, we paid like $50 for this suite which was very fair..

Cheers!

We loved Sheraton Vistana Villages. You get full housekeeping services with a full kitchen. On top of that a washer/dryer too.

Easy access on International Drive. This was a delightful place to stay and the pool was lovely.

LISALISA36,

I was talking to a lady, who works in a store, in my hometown, and she said she use to love in Orlando. She told me that there was a lot of crime in that area, International Dr. I wish someone else would let us know, for this is our first trip to WDW with our 5-year old daughter.

Take care~

I too am interested in this, I have never heard of international drive as having lots of crime, I will be staying at Sheraton Vistana Villages on International Drive. Any info on this would be appreciated, How safe is the I-ride trolley?
