Port Canaveral is out of our budget but Orlando is too far from the port. What's in between that we can stay at? Everything at port canaveral seems to be about 300 per night, for not even a very good hotel.

Ideas? 7/10/20

search more

from the airport to Cocoa there is ZIP

so you either stay near the airport

or in greater Cocoa Beach / Cape Canaveral .....
rooms under your number are easy to find

Four Points at Cocoa Beach should be cheaper than 300 $. It is 10 minutes from the terminal. If you can’t find anything suitable on Cocoa Beach on Trivago, try looking at Titusville, about 25 minutes from the terminal.

There are lots of great options. Do a google search for "hotels with shuttle service to Port Canaveral" to get a good list. I have stayed at the Country Inn and Suites 3 times throughout the year, and have had a very pleasant stay each time. The cost was only around $150 a night.
For something a little more out there, you could look into either Cocoa or Titusville, but then you are having to pay for your own shuttle, or parking at the port, which can add a substantial amount to your overall cost.

Consider the east side of Orlando. We stayed at a Hampton Inn the night before near UCF campus and it was half the cost of Port Canaveral and we got breakfast. It was only 45 min to the port

Do you have a rental car or will you need a shuttle? That will make a difference. Also how many people in the room? I guessed 4 people for the quotes below.

We loved this hotel (DoubleTree Suites Melbourne), it is about $250/night but all rooms are 2-room suites and all rooms have an ocean view. Great time to spend at the beach the day before departure.

We've also stayed at this Courtyard in Orlando a couple times, it's pretty nice and is $150 for a 2-room suite.

we have stayed at hotels near the airport that have shuttles and breakfast included, search on hotel website such as Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott
next morning we take a private car service to the port with a stop at a grocery store. We have also used the hotels free shuttle to go to the grocery store if we get in early enough the day before. Since we don't want the hassle of renting a car, we have found this easier then staying at PC

We often stay at the Radisson at the Port for around 140.00 a night. Nice pool to spend the afternoon at if you get in early enough.

Another vote for the Radisson. Register for the loyalty programs for the hotel chains that interest you. It will help with getting a discount.

We have stayed 3 times at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach (which includes a hot breakfast buffet). There is a walkway from the hotel to the beach and there are lots of places to eat nearby. We paid around $175/night this summer.

Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach/Port Canaveral- 2 adults, 2 adult age children- 2 queen beds, walkway to beach (really nice!), pool, free breakfast, free parking. This past May (looked up my receipt) $198 including all taxes etc. Booked directly with hotel.

290 with taxes included.

Maybe our date is special or something?

I didn’t initially notice your trip date in the first post when I replied, but you are a long ways out so the prices are high if you book now. As you get closer to the trip date, the price per night should drop. If you have AAA, you can get an extra discount too. I originally booked our stay about 4 months in advance when it was a price that I could live with. However, I made sure to check the website regularly since I had the “no cancellation fees” price (until about 2-3 days out). When the price dropped even more about 10 days from our arrival, I rebooked the room at the lower price without penalty.

I just looked at my confirmation for Radisson at the Port which cost us 2A/!C $107.10 and we booked about 3 weeks ahead of time on hotels.com for our cruise we did in August.
The other nice thing is we parked our car at hotel during cruise and had a late flight out coming home so they held our luggage and we spent the day at their pool prior to leaving for airport.

Thanks for posting this. I just checked the rates for our upcoming stay at the Radisson at the Port and the rate has dropped since I booked months ago. Will plan to call today to re-book! Maybe, this is one case when the earlier you book doesn't necessarily save money. I've found the same to be true for the AP rates at Universal. Often times those hotel rates drop as the dates approach. OP-good luck finding a good deal!

7/10. Doesn't seem like a special day to me, but maybe it is.

I would give it some time. Hopefully the rate will come down. It is a nice place, but not $290. Lots of times I will book and then check back for a better price as our cruise gets closer. Most, if not all the times I have done this, the price drops, sometimes a lot. Good luck!
