My son's baseball team has an upcoming tournament in July at WWoS. I would love if we could stay on-site, but probably would not be very economical to have to eat every meal out. So, I was wondering if there are any hotels near the sports complex that is not too expensive. A suite hotel would be nice.

Thanks

The sports complex is near 192 and I-4. There are plenty of hotels in that area that are inexpensive, including suites. Check out Quality Suites, Days Suites, Homewood Suites. They all have full kitchens (though Days Suites charges an additional fee for cookware). I've stayed at all 3 and would recommend any of them. Homewood has the nicest breakfast. Quality has a decent breakfast. Days does not have breakfast.

I know you want to be close...but it may be worth your while to try getting into a timeshare condo or vacation villa. My son has done many baseball tournaments & I have found that when we stayed in a villa/condo/timeshare... we had the washer & dryer right there!! There is nothing worse than having to do his dirty uniform & you have to wait for a washer or dryer in a hotel. Half the time you are up till after midnight drying to get it done. Cypress Point is in Lake Buena Vista & not too far from the complex. They rent out by the night thru Hotel Kingdom. I have never stayed there, but have been there & it is nice. I have stayed at Westgate Vacation Villas just off 192 (also very close).. I go it thru SkyAuction...ended up paying a total of less than $400 for 7 nights....in a very nice 2 bedroom. I wish your son luck. When my son was 15, his team won the AAU Nationals at Disney. What age group is your son in? My son has stopped playing...(started at 5 stopped at 16...tourn miniscus from catching & Dr said NO more catching for him) You will have a great time...but be ready to deal with unbearable heat while at the fields.... make sure you have plenty of sunscreen!

Thanks Sharon and Steve, I will check into these.

My son is 9 and he also has been playing since the age of 5. He just loves it so much. We would love it if they were to win but I've heard those "Florida" teams are great competitors. Only because they can practice all year (at least that's the story told around here, you know, makes the coach feel better) :D

Sorry to hear about your son's injury. At least he went out on top though and has lots of great memories. Wow, being at Disney and being the best in the nation!

Thanks again!!

It is ture about the Fl teams... they DO go all year round! When my son was 11 he started in the competitive end of it... that was year round...none stop... until he stopped at 16. It was fun but very expensive (as you now see). Like I said before, I think the best way for you to go is the condo way... You will all have your "space" & all the comforts of home...not to mention the washer/dryer & full kitchen (palying ball in the heat..he needs to eat good...not fast food the entire week) Good Luck...take lots of pictures.... the Disney fields are about the nicest fields a team could play on!!!
