The Doubletree Universal is pretty reasonable, we stayed there in December 2007 and it was a short walk to Universal, maybe 10 minutes. They were offering a 3 for 5 special earlier this year and we got a quote of $360 for 5 nights, staying May 26-31 with 3 adults so there was a $15 per night extra guest charge. They also have a shuttle to Seaworld and Universal. I'm not sure if Aquatica is included, you can check Expedia for more info and specify hotels near Universal.
I was about to suggest the Doubletree too. There's also a Holiday Inn across from it but we didn't think it was as nice. Both have a great location though.

The Holiday Inn is undergoing renovations. We stayed there the first night in Orlando and we paid 109.00 for a 3 room suite. It had two bedrooms and bathrooms ( one with a king, one with two queens ) and a living room with fridge, microwave, sink and pull out couch. The room was very clean. I would stay there again, it wasn't fancy but was quiet and safe. It was great having three TV's and three rooms to spread out in. I imagine after they get everything all finished it will be pretty decent, nice and new and shiny. Most rooms are two room suites, one bedroom and one living room with sleeper sofa. I only wish the Hard Rock room was as big.
I do think the pool area is closed right now..but it is attached to a Fridays which does a breakfast buffet.
