Hotels near Port Canaveral

For our upcoming cruise we are thinking of spending two nights prior to our cruise around the port. The reason being we won't be doing Disney World before our cruise this time and want to do the Kennedy Space Center with our full day before our cruise.

We would be flying into MCO and use a rental car to get out to the port area. Where are the best places to stay if our plans involve the Space Center and checking out a beach till it's time to board our cruise ship??

Residence Inn Marriot Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Fl. or Homewood Suites across the street (beach side of street) is newer. There is a Hertz Car drop off right next to the Residence Inn Marriot with shuttle to port. Residence Inn had free breakfast before Covid? If on the North end of Hotel you can sometime see the Cruise ships in port when you wake in the morning. It is that close to Port. The Kennedy center is just a short drive away.

If you want beachfront access, though, you might look at the other Hilton properties - the Doubletree, the Hampton Inn, and the Hilton proper.

We stayed at the four points by Sheraton, Cocoa beach before our cruise. Very nice hotel, just a few minutes walk to the beach. Ihop and Walgreens very nearby.

We love the Residence Inn. Not beach front, but Lori Wilson Park is a short drive down the road. Plus, if you are there for a few days you can pick up some grocery items etc as they have small kitchens. The other place we liked alot was the Hampton Inn, Direct beach access. Just lovely. Both an easy drive to the space center

I love this post! We're doing the exact same thing before our next cruise (which is still too far away!). I'm so excited to explore the Kennedy Space Center with the family.

If you want to stay ON the beach, go a little further down to the Cocoa Beach Pier area. Nothing fancy but there's a LaQuinta facing the beach. For whatever reason, there isn't a lot of choice if you want to stay oceanfront in PC.

We have used the Courtyard by Marriott (has beach access) and have always been happy. It's farther down, but we walk to Ron Jon's surf shop and some of the other tourist places. Hit up Starbucks by Ron Jon's the morning of the cruise and Uber to port as we don't rent a car. Good luck and have fun!
