Plans are to disembark from our Disney Alaskan cruise and then fly home to the US the next day. We are looking for recommendations of affordable, nice, clean hotels near the airport which have a shuttle. I realize everyone's definition of affordable is different, just would like to know first hand experiences.

Thanks.

We stayed at the La Quinta and the Hampton Inn by the airport for a few hours on our way to/from Hawaii back in November. Both were perfectly fine for a few hours of sleep! But be aware that neither had their shuttles running because of covid so we had to take a cab each time.

The Fairmont at the airport. Not sure if it meets the affordable definition, but for us it was convenient and lovely for a flight first thing in the morning back to the states. Our kids loved, loved the runway view room we had.

We booked the Fairmont for one night after the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise. We were just looking for convenience as we have an early morning flight the next day back to the US.

Actually the Fairmont on Robson is great and 5 blocks from port and the Fairmont Waterfront is across the road from Canada Place. The latter had an underground entry to the Skytrain station that has a direct airport route. You don't have to stay at the airport unless you really want to or have a really early flight out. Trains start at around 5 AM.

The Fairmont at the airport is by far the mot convenient but I wouldn't call it affordable. There are a ton of hotels around the airport that are very serviceable. I have stayed in many because I prefer to stay near the airport and take a shuttle rather than have to get to the airport for an early flight in the morning. I live about an hour from yvr. My top choice hotels for this purpose are the Westin, the Hampton or the Abercorn. If you are part of any hotel chain loyalty program most of them have some version of airport hotel there.

The hotels near the airport are a fraction of the price of the downtown hotels though so if the primary purpose is just a place to sleep before the flight it makes a lot more sense to stay closer to the airport.
