always have stayed at WDW resorts, but am wondering what it is like to stay at a hotel in lake buena vista? how nice are they? We like GF and just stayed at Poly (nice experience). Are there breakfast or meal packages? Are the hotels nice or old and run down? Transportation to/from airport? Transportation to WDW parks? Transportation to Universal available? Give me all the scoop...

each hotel or condo is different.

Cypress Pointe doesn't have transportation to any place. but it is popular, because it is reasonable priced and walking distance to restuarants, grocery store, drug store, post office, and some gift shops. but you have to drive or take a taxi to WDW, won't suggest walking to anyone out of the 20's. but if you are in young walking to DTD is not out of the questions.

for the higher priced places - there is Hyatt - think it has transportation to every place but not sure about the airport.

there are a bunch inbetween - the DD hotels, Sheraton Safari, Comfort Inn,

here is a list from orlando - but some aren't there

you can rent a house. yea for less than you paid for those WDW hotels. here are a few sites - now most are in the Kissimmee area not LBV

Lake Buena Vista Village Resort & Spa is pretty new, nice condos and they have complimentary scheduled shuttle service to Disney, Universal and Sea World.

If do off site please remember that you will need to rent a car. Because off site transportation is does not run regular as WDW transportation does.

I'm a big fan of Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista. They have a scrumptious free breakfast each morning with made-to-order eggs and Mickey/minnie pancakes. Best free hotel breakfast I ever had. They also have a Manager's Reception each weeknight evening with free beer, wine, smoothies, sodas and snacks. They also have the Dive-In movies and an onsite Pizza Hut. They are suites that sleep up to 6 and are nicely decorated. It is a very short drive to WDW. We really enjoyed it there.
