Trying to plan a trip to London with a friend who has never been to Europe. She wants to shop till she drops, I want to do more of the museum type thing. I plan to spend a lot of time at the now under construction V&A museum near the Olympic Park. Wondering if we can find a hotel close to a major tube line it would satisfy both our needs. Any ideas?
TIA!

I found Park Plaza at Victoria Station to be a great location (and across the street from the tube).

The earls court area is convenient. There is a tube stop right there. There are a couple premier inns there. That is a chain in the UK.

I used to live in London and when I visit now I only stay at hotels beside tube stations.

Hotels I have stayed at and would return to
Just so you know, in Europe Travelodge are hotel style with inside corridors, not motel style with outside corridors like in America. I usually check the prices of these hotels and then pick whichever one is cheapest for my days.

We looked at hotels for our trip last fall but got an AirBnB in Stepney. It was about 5 minutes from the Stepney Tube station and about 7 from the Whitechapel station. Very convenient on the District line both east and west and east of The City, though not as far as Olympic Park.

Okay I should have given better starting info 🙂

I currently need assistance to get around although I hope intensive physical therapy will get me out of the chair at least. The tube is more for my friend’s convenience thus why I’m looking for a hotel in a specific part of town; easier for me to view my sights if closer to venue.

I'm not sure how close it would be to your venues but we have our hotel booked for Hyatt Place London City East for our time in a few months. It's closer to Tower of London area though. Without having been to that area I'm not sure how convenient or not convenient the tube stations are in that area for mobility needs and it's not as far east as you were looking but figured I would mention it.

I actually just flew home from London today and have mobility issues myself. If you’re concerned about accessibility, I would recommend either staying near a larger station or near the Elizabeth line. Also, don’t rule out buses as sometimes they can be as fast and easier to navigate than the tube. If you are using a chair, you may need to use multiple lifts to reach the platform from street level.

We stayed at the Premier Inn St. Pancras. The location worked well for us for getting around all over the city.

Also, check out the TFL step free tube map so you will know in advance which stations you might need to avoid.
