Hi,
We are planning our annual trip to Disney, and we always do something else besides Disney for a few days. We have done most everything so we are onto the "what do you want to do again" question with the kids. We gave them the option of doing Universal/Islands again OR Discovery Cove/ Sea World. They suprised us by giving the thumbs up for DC/SW. We all agreed, our 1 time to DC was the best day we have had at any Theme Park (including Disney!) in the Orlando/Tampa area. It was just so nice and relaxing, all inclusive, and not crowded........somewhat expensive though!
Anyway.........I remember a few nice hotels on the road (Sea world drive???)off of Rt 4 that takes you to SW/DC, but I just cant remember the names of them. Does anyone know what some of them were ??? I think I remember about 3 or 4 different hotels........and they all looked pretty nice. We dont need "walking" distance.........just want to avoid having to go out to Rt 4 if the traffic is bad!
Thanks..........Syndrome

I know the Marriott is there, they also have a package deal with them on Seaworld.com or on their website itself, the kids a get a kidspack and for each adult ticket bought you get a kids one free(think that's what I read), you also get some kind of thing for a few rides(kinda like a fastpass).
Might be worth checking into!!
Hope this helps some.:)

I think you mean Sea Harbor Drive; Westwood Blvd. is also quite close (just a block up).

The Rennaisance is directly across the street--more of a business/convention hotel, tho, in my opinion. There is a Sheraton on the corner of Westwood and International Drive, a block away. Really quite a few on Westwood, if you do a Google search. Mariott Residence Inn, I know, can't remember the names of the others.

HGVC (HIlton Grand Vacation Club) has a Sea World location. Their newer property (referred to as "Tuscany" or "I-Drive") is also very close.

We stayed at Residence Inn Sea world and did walk to Sea world one morning. I would suggest getting the bus, not due to distance but lack of side walk.:-)

Thanks for the replys. Turns out there are quite a few hotels close to SW/DC.
I think that Horizons by Marriott looks really nice. Big suites and villas
's. Great themed water play areas for kids and pretty close to SW/DC. Seems like a good value for the $$$.
Any opinions on Horizons?
Thanks..........Syndrome

We stayed at the Vistana Villages which is around 4 miles from Sea World and 7 miles from Universal. We stayed in a two bedroom villa with a kitchen and screened in porch. The pool was beautiful and the resort was kid friendly.

We stayed at HGVC Sea World and really enjoyed it, especially if not doing other parks. It was a bit too far to WDW for us, but a very nice property with nice resort features and kids activities.
