Hotel/Resort Question for next week

Anyone have a suggestions for an inexpensive hotel in the Downtown Disney area for next Friday night? Will only be staying one night before checking in at the AKL on Saturday. Also, does anyone know if it's better to check in early or later in the day at the Disney Resorts? Wondering which would increase your odds of getting a better room? Thanks!

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn a few times for one night before checking in to our DVC and the room was very nice.

We stayed at the Wyndham for one night and thought it was nice. Be sure to book a tower room as they have been refurbed. This resort is directly across the street from the market place.
