Hotel Recommendations

Last time I stayed at Carousel Inn, which was super convenient, it was right across the road, and I felt very safe walking alone there. This time, that hotel is already booked, and I am also staying for two nights, so a bit more conscious of price. I'm looking for something that is reasonably close to Disney (under a 2 km walk, but has to be in a safe area), that won't break the bank. Is it better to stay 4-5 km away and just take a cab to and from the parks or is that crazy expensive or difficult?

There is a recent thread on "cheapest hotel" recommendations asked by someone with kids, so walking/transport was important. Many replies to that one. I was not successful in trying to attach the link. It came up on page 2 on this forum.

Dec 4/5 are the two nights. Don't really want to pay more than 150 CAD a night.

Walking distance will be difficult for those dates. If you do find something, I'm sure it will be more than 150.
With the CP that weekend, things have been booking full fast.

candlelight processional , while it's not an advertised events that the general public and get seating for it is something that many people gather around yearly to witness enjoy down Main Street.

I just pulled your dates up on Trivago, and there are several options...
The Super 8 near Disneyland (not the one on DL Drive) is $119/nt (US$) for non-refundable or $142 for refundable. Includes breakfast and parking. Walk is about 3/4 mile.
The Super 8 on DL drive is cheaper at $89 a nt, but the reviews are not as good for that location.
Ramada Plaza Anaheim is $122/nt
Motel 6 is $106/nt
Portofino is $102/nt

I would book the Marriott Suites for $82/nite and use ART, or the Hilton for $110/nite and walk or use ART, avaiable on Lastminutetravel.com Club. I just did a search for default 2 adults, so YMMV. Also prices are in US dollars. LMT bookings are refundable/cancelable up to 3 days before checkin.
