Does anyone have anyone have any hotel recommendations near the Orlando convention center? I am going down in November for a conference.

Thanks!

We just stayed at the Hilton Orlando - it's literally right there next to the convention center. The pool was gorgeous, lazy river was lovely. Full service hotel. The rooms were big and comfortable, but I felt they needed a good spring cleaning. We scored a good deal - points and cash and no resort fee, otherwise it is expensive. Parking is $18/night - there was plenty of parking.

What are you looking for in terms of budget? Amenities? Maybe someone else has a suggestion.

We stayed at this hotel in March and loved it!! We found it on Hotwire too!

LOVE LOVE the Hilton Orlando if in your budget and you can walk to convention center. Great location and some of the best customer service we've ever had, anywhere.

This is from our room looking over at about half the convention center. The other half is across street to the left. Those high rise you see past it top left, those would be the next closest hotels.

Does anyone have any recommendations maybe in downtown Disney? :o

We could take a taxi to the convention center.

We've stayed at the Rosen Centre in the past. Very nice place. I think it's the yellowish building (next to the high rise building) behind the convention center in the above picture.

Sadly, that hotel is booked because of the conference i am going to.

Taxis in Orlando are very expensive and going from DTD to there is going to be costly. I would select another hotel close to the convention center, plenty to walk to around there for dining etc.

The one in the picture with the point on top is the Hyatt Regency Orlando, try that.

Also look at -
- Rosen Centre
- Rosen Plaza
- Embassy Suites Orlando International

Let us know if one of those worked out.

I had friends stay at Embassy Suites on International drive. My understanding is the hotel had a shuttle to the convention center. I'm thinking a lot of hotels along that strip would have shuttles too.

Definitely the Hilton Orlando, Great property and wonderful staff. Love the bridge to the convention center over Idrive

I was there in July for a conference, and our hotel for our state delegation was the Doubletree at Sea World. it's on the other side of the freeway, but the I-Drive trolley has a stop out front and the hotel is great, with a drop-off point right in front of the convention center. Don't bother with the Red Roof Inn, as it's closer, but my room had a mildew smell to it. Yuck. If you use the I-Drive trolley for all your transport needs, it will take you down the strip to the Canyon Cafe, (I think) which has a wonderful happy hour menu. I recommend checking it out, because I had poutine on multiple days for dinner, and the bartenders knew my group well by the end. . What can I say, except that I eat like a five year old. :D

As a bonus, there is a one-seat ride to and from the airport for most of the day for $2 on the local public transit system, known as Lynx, and it drops off and picks up right in front of the Doubletree at approximately half-hour intervals.
