Hotel Recommendation

We stayed at the Courtyard Theme Park Entrance this past Summer, it was awesome! My kids loved the waterpark (despite many people on here saying it is good for the 5 and under set...my kids are 10 and 18), and the walk was really short! We could see Space Mountain from our balcony. The room was spotless, bunk beds were awesome, and the split bath was great for 2 people showering at the same time.

True! I think it will be okay ... it just feels SO weird not staying on property! It will be so strange not being able to walk out of the hotel and straight into DCA or taking advantage of the EMH. We will be back at the GCH this summer so that will be good. Just want to make sure the Park Vue is a good second choice :) From what I see, it seems to get a lot of positive reviews which is good. It is going to be so weird heading in the direction of harbor vs heading towards DTD when heading home for the night!

Yep, it is weird walking the other direction. And being out of the bubble and Harbor Blvd not being the nicest of neighborhoods. But Park Vue is fine and grabbing free cookies and coffee in the lobby is a plus :)

^.....???? "...not the nicest of neighborhoods..." ???? WHA...... it's hotels, restaurants, fast food, little shops...... it's the DISNEYLAND "neighborhood" !!!!!

Nope...I totally relate. While I would not necessarily agree with the "not nicest of neighborhoods" to me it is a MUCH different feel walking back to the hotel vis Downtown Disney VS crossing Harbor with the peddlers, panhandlers, traffic, bus stops and cheap chain stores.

While I have never felt like it was not safe. I always though stayin on Harbor fells more like the Vegas Strip than remaining immersed in the "Disney" bubble.

I agree

It looks like you already narrowed it down, but the new residence inn at the convention center (Harbor/Katella) is awesome, free full breakfast, and it's a shorter walk than DLH.

Does anyone have any experience with the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn? I have reserved a room there, but now I’m wondering if that was a good choice, since that hotel isn’t mentioned in any of the above recommendations.

We are going to Disneyland in May and are booked to stay at the Grand Legacy. We normally stay at the Tropicana Inn and Suites and have done so for over the past 10 years but we wanted to try something different. It just so happens that the GL is also right across the street from the park so under a 5 minute walk to the main gate, and it apparently has a rooftop restaurant which has prime unobstructed view of the fireworks. Apparently one of the best views from any hotel in the area. We are very much looking forward to having some drinks while the fireworks are going off. Plus we couldn't beat the price. The rates seem very reasonable.
