We are arriving at LAX at about midday on a Sunday following a very long flight from Auckland (probably will feel longer than that as we are travelling with a 6 month old! 
). The first part of our holiday will be in San Diego but we thought it best that we did not drive all the way down to SD fresh off the plane. The plan is to drive a little way out of LAX on the San Diego freeway and stay in a hotel for the night before continuing down to SD the next morning. I am having trouble finding a suitable hotel, fairly near the freeway so that we don't have to make a massive detour and so that we can get off early in the morning. I would be really grateful if someone could point me in the direction of a nice hotel that would be suitable.
When we arrive back in Anaheim a week later we are staying in the Embassy Suites Anaheim South. I did think about booking this hotel for the one night but am concerned that we will be going out of our way. Any suggestions anyone??
