My family is looking into a trip to Europe in June of 17. We had been wanting to go back for years and had actually planned on going summer of 18 when my daughter graduates HS but now we may have an opportunity to go a bit earlier. My parents want to go to a race at Les Mann and so after doing a few days in Paris my daughters and I were thinking about taking the train to DL Paris and staying for 2 days to do the 2 parks. I was looking at the hotel thread but am overwhelmed since I have never been and have no clue what is close or whatever. The prices for a 2 day ticket look very reasonable but the hotels were outrageous. So my question is are there reasonable rooms CLOSE to the parks ie walking distance? We would probably take the train from Paris TO the park and again not sure if it takes you close enough to walk or if there are shuttles or you take a taxi or whatever but we will not have a car so wanting to know any suggestions of reasonable rooms within walking distance or that have a shuttle. Thanks! :)

ok, first time to do is decide your hotel

Disneyland Hotel is at the main park. The general public entrance turnstyles are under the hotel. This is the most expensive hotel, 5 star

Hotel New York is at Disney village. It is approx 7 minute walk to the main park, through Disney Village. This is the next most expensive, 4 star

Hotel Sequoia Lodge is on the shore of Disney Lake. It is approx 15 minute walk to the main park, past Hotel New York. 3 star

Hotel Newport Bay is at the end of Disney Lake. It is approx 20 minute walk to the main park, past Hotel Sequoia Lodge and Hotel New York. 3 Star

Hotel Cheyanne is the far side of Hotel New York. It is approx 20 minute walk to the main park, past Hotel New York. 3 star

Hotel Santa Fe is the far side of Hotel Sequoia Lodge. It is approx 20 minutes walk to the main park, past Hotel Sequoia Lodge and Hotel New York.

The hotel/ park tickets package is the normal standard package. Breakfast is included in all the hotels.

Next check out the different country websites. Each country has different offers and you can book ANY of the countrys offers, even if you don't live in that country. The best way to do it , is to have each website open in a different tab and check the different hotels for your dates and amount of people. It might be a good idea to record the info in a spread sheet.

Websites to check
www.disneylandparis.co.uk UK
www.disneylandparis.ie Ireland
www.disneylandparis.fr France
www.disneylandparis.de Germany
www.disneylandparis.nl Netherlands
www.disneylandparis.be Belguim
www.disneylandparis.it Italy

As mentioned above all the Disney hotels are walkable except for Davy Crocket ranches which needs a car as there are no shuttles. There are also shuttle buses from all the hotels except Disneyland hotel which is at the entrance but to be honest the walk from all of them is nice anyhow as its by the lake and through Disney Village.
They often seem expensive as they include tickets for each day including arrival and departure day - if you book 2 nights you will get 3 day tickets etc and breakfast each day

There are cheaper hotels off site which have either a shuttle bus or are on the RER (train) line - some only one or 2 stops away but you would need to buy tickets separately for these and you won't get EMH so need to factor in the extra cost for tickets

The train station is right at the entrance to the parks - next to Disney Village so getting from Paris is easy but will take approx 40 minutes for the journey

Thanks for the info although I am wondering if there are any "non" Disney ones that would be close enough to either walk or that might have a shuttle. As I mentioned My parents and myself and my kids will fly into CDG and spend 4 days in Paris and then they will rent a car and go to Les Mann. That is when we had hoped to take the train to DLP and stay somewhere but we certainly can't afford those prices. I am seeing 1200 to 1400 for two nights. That is crazy. I would even stay in a pension or something similiar as long as it wasn't too far to walk. Any ideas? Even the so called good neighbor hotels were outrageous.

how many people, what dates, what hotel? That just seems alot , I could do a check for you.

The partner / good neighbour hotels are not really walkable, although they do run shuttle buses. The Disney hotels , as well as being walkable also have other perks such as Extra Magic Hours and shopping service

Ok I see what I was doing wrong. I was using the farthest dates I could find on the DP website operated through Disney and those prices include park tickets. I didn't realize that till I read the fine print. So now that I see that it doesn't seem too bad although on the Disney site it only goes through April I believe so i used similiar "days" in March. Don't even know if that is comparable since June is prob higher but was just trying to get an idea. I went to buy a guide book and couldn't find one at the book store. :/ But now that I know this I think we could do the Santa Fe or Cheyenne. That isn't too terrible. Of course that depends on how much more it costs in summer too LOL

thanks Tink that is a deal. If I could get something like that it would def be doable. Right now I am just looking to even see what to expect but that is awesome. THANKS!! 861 is awesome! Of course we are not going till June of 17 LOL so who knows what it will be then and my kids get out of school on June 8th so probably we would be going the following week.

@kelmac284 you are welcome
you just need to check all the different countries websites, not just the USA one. The different countries have different offers and prices. You can book online or on the phone, everything is done electronicly so they don't need to mail anything to you. I live in Ireland have booked a February trip . I rang the contact number for Ireland but asked to be transferred to the French call centre and I booked the deal on the French website

Thanks Tink I will surely remember that when it becomes closer and I know exact dates and such!! :)

The US site is notoriously expensive Kelly. You will get much better value on one of the European sites. Everything goes to you by e-mail so there is no difficulty booking on another country's site.

Thanks Anemone. I will def use one of the other sites when the times comes!!

As I mentioned in my post above there are also hotels slightly further away which you can access by catching the RER (train one or two stops. Some of these are very cheap no frills hotels such as the Ibis . Check out hotels in Val d"Europe or Bussy St George.

Thanks for the info. After re-evaluating I think we could most def afford the lower end ones like Santa Fe or Cheyenne now that I know that the price includes the tickets.

What about the dinning plan? Is it worth it? What do you get?

What about the dinning plan? Is it worth it? What do you get?

I have been twice, one solo trip, one trip with my mum and I am going back again February 2016. I don't use the dining plans , I prefer to pay out of pocket. To me the dining plans are a waste of money. As you pay in advance, for Disney it is a great revenue source as they already have your money before your visit. They really try to push the dining plans on people though so if you book over the phone watch out.

To really get the value out of the dining plan you need to have a full meal, starter, main, dessert for lunch and dinner. I know I personally wont eat that much, I prefer to fill up at breakfast, snack during the day and main meal in the evening. The dining plans are really aimed at families with children, the character meals are on the dining plans for example, but I don't do character meals.

Also places like Planet Hollywood in Disney Village are not on the meal plans, so by Disney pushing the meal plans they are trying to discourage people from eating in non Disney owned restaurants.

Also when you have the dining plans, you get a set menu in the table service restaurants, which is usually a smaller selection than the regular al a carte menu. You can choose something from the regular menu, but you then have to pay the difference, which to me, defeats the purpose of the meal plan.

For some people the meal plans work, as they don't have to budget for food or they only eat at the buffet restaurants so their children can eat as much or as little as they want etc etc.

We got free half board once. Voucher for one table service and the standard breakfast. So if there is a dining offer I'd take it, does save money. Some plaves in the village do take the plan vouchers such as Annettes. Reservations are required, but they can only be made onsite, so be sure to do it after you have checked in.

Important to note that the dining plans have changed recently too, they have introduced what is basically a snack credit on some plans. http://www.dlpguide.com/planning/dining/meal-plans/
(this is probably the best DLP website)

QS is is expensive IMO and don't expect the WDW or DLR QS quality.

The Cheyenne hotel is getting a little worn around the edges now, but because of the theme is doesn't take it's toll on the eye. We had a broken lamp, and bath plug that didn't work. Both were fixed by the time we came back after a couple of hours.

I am trying to book for June 2016 and it doesn't look like the US offers will be out for a few months. If I book through the other countries sites, will my credit card go through? Is it 'legal?'
My husband and I will be traveling without kids--am I correct that the our tickets are included in the price too? Thanks for your help!

It will go through, but obviously the site charges in Euros or GBP, so check with your bank or card provider for any currency conversion charges. You might find there is a few % as a fee :)

Yep, all resort stays through the official sites include park tickets

Do you happen to know how much of a deposit is required, when full amount is due and cancellation policy? I know there is small print with these details somewhere but I am taking advantage of the expertise of you people who know how to get this done!
If I used DVC Points to book DLH, would I purchase tickets at hotel or at park gate? I am thinking the vacation package deals are pretty reasonable, but am comparing using points.
Thanks again!!!!

If you book online you have to pay in full at time of booking. To book paying a deposit you need to phone. Deposit will be 15% of the total plus the booking fee.

I'm sorry, I can't answer your questions on DVC.
