Best Western Park Place Inn and Suites vs Candy Cane Inn...

Which would you go with? And why?

CCI would be ~300 savings. I really really want to book DL Hotel since it will be for my daughters birthday, but don’t think I can justify the cost.

I don't think you can go wrong with either hotel. It really depends on several different factors. How many days are you staying? What is your touring style? How much does proximity to the gate matter/will you need to return to the room during the day (maybe more than once)? Will you or anyone in your group need a shuttle?
CCI is one of our go-to hotels in the DLR area. We always go with the Premium Rooms (larger, breakfast delivered to the room, amenities basket, microwave and small fridge in room, DVR player (free rentals at the front desk), laminate flooring, etc. CCI is clean, has great customer service, free parking, free private shuttle that runs on time, generous continental breakfast, next door to 2 convenience stores and close walking distance to the 24/7 CVS and 24/7 Walgreens.
BWPPI is the closest off site hotel to the crosswalk to the Harbor entrance to the parks -- closer to the gates than some of the on site hotels! If you'll be needing close and quick access to your room during the day, this is the place. If you tour the parks RD to closing and you'll be staying for several days, this might be the better choice. By day 5, your legs will be thanking you!

BWPPI - becasue you cant get any closer to the parks. It's a 5 minute walk from the turn styles (I time it) . To us, it would be worth the short walk.
Either way, I hope you have a great trip!

Candy Cane is my family’s go to. The shuttle is great after a long day. And I love the exterior so much. The rooms can be tight but they work really well for us.

Before we had to cancel our May trip we were booked at the BWPPI. We had looked at most of the area hotels including the CCI (which did look nice) but ultimately it was the close proximity of the BWPPI that won us over as it just cant be beat for the short walk to the parks. The room reviews we watched looked good as well.

We have a tentative booking in November for the Tropicana because there was no availability for the BWPPI or I would have re booked there again.

When are you planning on going? Between the two inns, I would stay at Best Western Park Place Inn because of the location. Right across the street (crosswalk) from the entrance to Disneyland. That does make a difference during the afternoon to go back to the room for a nap and especially at the end of the day. Your feet will thank you. My family doesn't eat first thing in the morning, but after a couple of hours, they are ready to chow down, so we eat in the parks, so, the breakfast first thing, doesn't matter to us. If it works for you, I suggest what each one has. Many people here stay at both. You can't go wrong with these two choices, so, I hope when you are able to go, you and yours has the best visit ever!

Used to think closer is always better! The shuttle does seem to work out nicely to CCI, but I like to avoid potential wait times and such if possible.

However, our stay last time at Courtyard Theme Park Entrance might have swayed that for me, it was closer but dang that walk really hurts after a full day in the park! So I think I'm team shuttle now lol

If you're open to a shuttle, my go to for staying near DL is the Hyatt Orange County. I like this hotel because it offers a family suite with bunk beds. DH and I can have some privacy and the kids love the bunk beds. Too far to walk, you have to use the shuttle, and there is a cost to the shuttle too on a daily basis.

We stay at BWPPI because of the proximity. I agree with the PP that if you're willing to make the leap to using a shuttle, then there are other shuttle options that may be better. We stay at BWPPI as with almost the same walk to the shuttle area, I can be in my room, and that's worth it for us. We also find the free breakfast to be a good value.

Does anyone like the Camelot Inn and Suites? I am in the search too. Disneyland Hotel has a really good military discount but still twice as high. We "might" splurge. Not sure yet!
