Hotel Parking with AP?

When I read the benefits of the Preferred Annual Pass, it says "$5.00 preferred parking (price subject to change without notice)‡". Does that replace the current $14 per day parking charge to stay onsite? Do I need to mention this when I check in?

Thanks, we are trying to pin down our details and if we want a rental car for our whole trip. $5 a day doesn't bother me, but at $14 dollars a day, I doubt I'll keep a car with me for the week.

The refers to the parks not the hotels.

This is the resort section of the benefits for the AP -

Universal Orlando® Resort:

Free self-parking each time you visit or pay for 2 hours of Valet and get the rest of the day for free‡
$5.00 preferred parking (price subject to change without notice)‡
Free use of kennels for one pet on the day of your visit. Additional pets stay at the regular price. (subject to availability)

That is actually listed under the "additional discounts" benefit under the resort section, not the theme park discounts part. I would have assumed that the discount was for at the hotels.

That is for the parks, not for the hotels. If you look, there is a ‡

If you look down at the bottom, it says
‡Subject to availability. Valid at Universal Orlando Parking garages only. Not valid for parking (including valet) at any Universal Onsite Hotel.
