Hello,

Looking for some expert advice. Would like a recommendation for a hotel next to Disneyland. Doesn't have to be fancy, just clean. Location is important to us, something next to the park and doesn't break the bank. Where does everyone like to stay. Thanks

I am staying at the Del Sol Inn, it is right across the street and for the kids room which is 2 queen beds and a set of bunk beds has a mini fridge and microwave ran us $125/night

My favorite off property hotel is the Best Western Park Place Inn and Mini Suites, which is directly across the street from the pedestrian entrance to Disneyland. Clean, surprisingly quiet, large rooms, and there is a free breakfast buffet next door at Captain Kidd's on the second floor.

Best Western Park Place Inn is the one. No frills, great location, and sort of cheap. I personally like Fairfield inn a tad better but it's another 3-4 min walk.

My favorite off property hotel is the Best Western Park Place Inn and Mini Suites ........ and there is a free breakfast buffet next door at Captain Kidd's on the second floor.

All I've ever read on this DIS boards is how HORRIBLE Captain Kidd's is ...

I stayed at BWPPI last December. I would stay there again in an instant.

Captain Kidds breakfast was pretty gross though.

I stayed at Tropicana and really liked it. Clean rooms and super close location to the park entrance. I totally agree with the others about Captain Kidd's. :confused3

My favorites are the candy cane inn. And ramada maingate. Ramada is under construction all of 2014. CCI is super clean. Has free parking. Free breakfast with tons of cold options. Rooms have fridge and safe. Upgraded rooms have microwave. Easily walking distance but also have free shuttle. Give AP and AAA discounts. Rated #3 I believe on trip advisor.

Ramada also has free parking and breakfast super close walk. Rooms have fridge and microwave. They have a new building that's about a year old and very nice. Breakfast doesn't have a ton of options. Close to tony Roma's and Denny's. Staff are super nice helpful too.

I agree Captin Kidds is disgusting.... I had to find out the hard way unfortunately... obviously before I found the DIS... im surprised they are still in business.

We've been to DL three times as a family and we've stayed at the Tropicana every time. It's clean and right across Harbour Blvd. from the parks.

We've never been to Captain Kidd's and have no plans to go there. We have been to the McDonald's that's practically next door, though. (Only one hotel between McD's and the Tropicana)

I feel really Blessed that dh and I were able to splurge this trip (6 years in the making! :woohoo: ) and we'll be staying at Paradise Pier. If we hadn't, though, we'd be staying at the Tropicana.

Captain Kidds...My understanding is the hotel just uses their upstairs space for breakfast, that it's not actually foods from the restaurant, therefore safe lol

We are going to stay at the DI&S this summer. This is the first time we are staying in walking distance but we needed the extra space, we got the C2 room.

I read about the hotels on this website as well as tripadvisor. This map helped me out.

Compare the prices from the hotel website with the prices on Cheaptickets.com and Getawaytoday.com. These websites sometimes have better prices. Also you can save on tickets at way.com, velocitytours.com, or Ebates/Orbitz. I have used all but velocity before. I read about velocity on this website just recently.

We're trying the Desert Inn and Suites on our next trip. We got a suite for $94 a night. It has a room with two queen beds and then a separate room with a pull out couch, mini fridge, and microwave. It's right across the street from the park. I've hear good things so fingers crossed!

Captain Kidd's is disgusting but I believe the courtesy breakfast is just pastry, cereal and fruit - it's separate from the buffet.

As for hotels, I like the Camelot for location and the Castle Inn for service. We're just leaving today after having stayed at the Castle for the past 4 days and the staff just blew us away.

Hotels directly across the street that we have stayed at, and would return to are Hojo's, Desert Inn and Suites and the Best Western Park Place Inn. Pretty much in that order of preference. All are clean and close. Hojo's has the best pool, BWPPI is closest, DI&S has some great suites for larger groups.

My favorite off site hotel has to be Howard Johnson. It is within walking distance (about a 10 min walk) free parking, restaurants close by,very clean rooms, and they even have a Keurig in room! You can choose standard room which is still nice though I prefer to choose the premium room they seem a bit more updated and they even have rooms with bunk beds for the kiddos! I have an annual pass and receive 20% off our stay. I believe if you mention Mousewait.com they still give you between 10%-20% off plus on hojos website they usually have some great offers. Last but not least, if traveling with kids they will enjoy the themed Pirate cove pool. It's a great little spot for the kids to safely splash around and the adults can grab some cold drinks at the hotel market and relax. If we aren't staying at the Disneyland hotel this is our go to place.
