Anyone have experience with hotels right close to WDW? We fly into Orlando at midnight Jan 9th (great seat sale) but don't check into the BCV until Jan 10th.

Any recommendations on what hotel to stay at, somewhere between the airport and WDW? We're going to rent a car once we land so will be able to drive wherever, however don't need anything fancy as it'll just be for sleeping. We'll get up in the morning and head out to grab groceries, food etc before heading into WDW.

Thanks,
Renee

We're in the same boat as you and i was also checking for a hotel that wouldn't break the bank. Solution for us ended up being one of the All Star resorts. I couldn't believe it when i snagged a rate that was lower than several others that we were considering. I figured since we are planning on moving after one night anyway, why not spend that 1st night on-site and start the holiday off "right"!! :rotfl2:

Might be worth checking into?? Have a great holiday wherever you choose to start it off :thumbsup2

We just did something like this....we drive and usually stop at the Florida Welcome Center for a few hours rest ( not paying 100.00 for one short night in route ) .... It's an 18 hour drive and we plan on getting to WDW early, like 6 am to have the whole day.... This past September trip, I got reservations at All Star Movies, 88.00 tax title everything for one night... We pulled in 10:30 pm, had a room, bed shower and we thru the crazy traffic of Jacksonville and Orlando in the wee hours with no one on the road... Don't think you can beat that room rate off property unless you trust some flea, bed bug ridden dump in the boonies...

We got up the next morning, moved to POFQ for our stay and we're refreshed and rested..

Going in a couple of weeks and got a room at Sprighill suites lake BV for right at 70. Includes free breakfast for 5.

Doing exact same thing and need a place to sleep and shower before going to Disney.

We routinely stay off property for the first night since we travel standby (airline folks) so we don't possibly burn DVC points missing a flight. We have had very good luck with the local Holiday Inn properties.
