So I just talked DH into leaving earlier Friday (we were planning on 9pm and now it's going to be more like 9am) and that should put us right near Disney World Saturday night. We want to make it to rope drop at 9am so now I need to find a place to stay near Disney World. Any recommendations? We're looking for something close to $100 a night... doesn't have to be super fancy or anything. Thanks in advance :)

I second travelzoo has good deals.

I used to like Staybridge Suites Lake Buena Vista, about 3 minutes from the WDW entrance by way of Downtown Disney. Little suites (dated but fine for a night), frequently discounted, free breakfast and late check-out (IF available and IF you sign up for their "club"...free). Within walking distance to restaurants, near grocery/liquor.

We have stayed in COmfort Inn LBV, Orlando Vista and Best Western DTD all for one night before checking into our WDW resort. I like being so close to WDW so we can get up early head to our resort, check in, have breakfast and hit the parks close to rope drop!

There are 7 DTD hotels that are great!

Im thinking if you can do 120 a night you could get a value resort and then you would get the extra magic hour? Or Mousesavers has a special on Doubletree for 79.00 a night, which with parking and taxes will be under 100.00 a night. Im considering this myself as we have to find a spot for the last four days of our vacation, but Im also considering going with a 3 star mystery hotel via hotwire for less.. not sure I want to risk it, even thought the reviews usually look good Im paranoid of bugs. But really doing this on a budget so IDK....

Oh duh! That would be a great idea just to go right to Pop. We will need the night for May 14th. If I call, will I be able to add on an extra night to our package? We have a preferred room booked... I'm sure it'll be more than $100 but it will save us having to repack the following morning and then unload again (and leave the park during our first day). It would be great to just be able to stay at MK all day long and not have to worry about going back to the hotel at all. I won't be adding any extra tickets for the night before though, we could just use that night to explore the hotel property.

If you are already staying im sure they can add a night, and the time and energy you save bouncing will be awsome. Also free transport no rent a car, unless you plan on getting one anyway, but then also wont pay to park..

If you opt to stay off site, check out Buena Vista Suites ...they have really nice rooms and also a nice complimentary breakfast in the morning as well. We booked one night there for May 19th and its costing us $79.00 for one night, with tax it came to $88.88. We are staying in a queen suite room, and using our AAA discount! Great place to stay but if you can add a night to Pop, you might be better to do that!!!!

Have a great trip!

I just checked on AAA website they are showing room rated of $120 a night for any of the Disney value resorts for the night of 5/14. If I were you I would just add the other night to your package. Why unpack then repack and unpack again. Its worth it to stay put.

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress... got it last June on Priceline for $80. Gorgeous hotel and will return as soon as we can.

Thanks everyone! We went ahead and booked another night at Pop... I don't know why I didn't think of that... Disney just puts me in a tizzy... lol... so we'll be getting there earlier and be able to enjoy a night of relaxation before hitting the parks for rope drop the following morning (and the great thing is that we won't have to leave mid-day to unload all our suitcases) Yippee!!! 2 weeks to go!!! I cannot WAIT!
