My husband and I are going on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas in October and I am looking for a place to stay for 1 night. We really just need a place to sleep for the night before the cruise. We will be sailing out of Port Canaveral. Anybody know of a nice place to stay that is not going to cost an arm and a leg? Also do you recommend using a site like Priceline, Orbitz, or Travelocity? I have never used one of the travel sites before so I am not really sure how to do it. We will be driving down on a Wed if that makes a difference. This is also our first cruise. It is a cruise for my husband 20th year reunion. If we fall in love with the cruising experience we will be booking a Disney Cruise for us and the kids. Thanks for all of the help. I know that you guys will have some great advice for me.

We stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton. We had a junior-suite that was very reasonable and they also provided transportation to Carnival included with the price. You have to drive to another hotel closer to the port to park and catch the shuttle, the Radisson, which was very nice. The Sheraton was very nice and the on-site restaurant was good as well.

choose the park and cruise special

I would do this again in a heartbeat. It was our first cruise as well and we absolutely loved it! We went on a 4-day to the Bahamas. We really wanted to try it out before we booked a 7-day and find out we didn't like it. My husband is ready to go again, it was by far his favorite vacation.

Good luck and have a great trip!

BTW My husband is from Forest City, NC, not too far from you! His sister and family still live there.

You might want to ask this over on the Cruise Forum if you haven't already. Many DIS cruisers will arrive one or two nights before their Disney cruise and stay at the Port. I'm sure that they can suggest a hotel that is comfortable and affordable.

We just stayed at the Renaissance Inn which is right near the port.
BEAUTIFUL resort and a great one night stay.
Very affordable, super clean, great staff.
Breakfast included too :)

We usually stay at the Radisson Resort at the Port. Their rates are really reasonable, and they offer free parking. I think it would cost you $15/night to park at the port. You can leave your car in a secured lot at the hotel, and they will shuttle you to and from the cruise terminal.
Have fun!

DH & I stayed at the Country Inn & Suites last year and it was nice. I know the offer park/shuttle deals, but I'm not sure how much they cost. I think I paid around $200 but I got a shuttle from MCO to the hotel, from hotel to port and from port back to MCO and two free drinks in the hotel's bar.
