Hotel Menage

My cousin and his girlfriend stayed there during our trip earlier this month. Although they liked their room a lot and the price was good, they said that the service was horrible, and they are laid-back, non-picky people. They we telling us all week how the staff there has an attitude and that every time they asked them for or about something, the staff came across like they were really bothered by having to help them. They said that they would definitely not stay there again, even with a great deal.

I don't know if everyone's experiences were like that with the hotel, and I didn't witness it first hand, but they hated it.

I stayed there for about 5 days back in March 2008. At that time, the hotel just completed its renovations, but a few reviewers on tripadvisors complained about the poor quality of the renovations. My boyfriend and I did not encounter any major problems and would stay there again if the price is right.

what was good:
the price was pretty low for spring break (70-80 per night I believe)
the hotel decor was nice
staff was very nice to us
staff held our luggage on the last day
.5 mile walk to the entrance of disneyland
room was clean and spacious
nice tv
restaurant had cheap paninis
room service was really cheap
we were near the pool and freeway, but we could barely hear them in our room

what was not good:
requested a mini refrigerator but never got one during the entire stay (the staff told us at check in that they would give us one as soon as one was available)
lava lamps in the front of the hotel were broken and looked disgusting

We did not try the pool or bar. Our main goal for the hotel was to have a clean place to sleep, and the rest of the time we were only at Disney. Hotel Menage served that purpose well. For more opinions and pictures, you should check out tripadvisor.com.

Hope I helped! :flower3:

We stayed here for 3 or 4 nights a while back. We thought for the price (like $70) it was a good deal. The rooms are large and include a huge bed and big screen t.v. Its a very pretty looking hotel and pool. But it looks like they cheaped out on the renovations, chipped paint, scratched up doors, broken soap dishes etc. We would probably stay here again if we couldn't get an deals at a Mariott.

I've never stayed here, it seems like quite the walk to me. It's up over the overpass and across the freeway. The farthest we want to walk is the HoJo so that's the farthest out we will stay. Just thought you might to know about the walk itself. I think they are on the ART route tho so you could do that instead of walking.

We stayed there this past May and we loved it. (There are pictures in my TR and the link is in my siggie).

I had booked this through hotels.com and we pay about $60/night. A couple weeks before our day to check in, I had emailed the hotel directly and requested a mini fridge in our room and a pool side view. Both requests were completed without any problems.

We didn't walk to the parks, so I can't comment on that.

We did order room service and the food was really good and the service was quick to our room. The staff was really nice, the room was clean and I think they did a good job on renovating.

We would stay there again.

I really like Hotel Menage. If you don't like drinking hotel water, there's a Chevron where you can buy bottled water by the gallons for cheap! The walk isn't that far, plus there's a shuttle that comes about every 20 minutes to the park. I would go there again, esp to try their $4 paninis.

I stayed at Hotel Menage last September and am staying there again Sept. 13-19th. It is such a gorgeous hotel with a fantastic pool. My friends and I are in our 20s and I think that this hotel is more for the 20-30s crowd rather than a family/kids hotel, but it could work either way.

We had no problems with the service at the hotel, it was always fabulous for us.

As for the transportation, we bought the ART shuttle pass for the week for like $10. Its way better than paying the daily fee and faster than walking.

Hotel Menage Rocks! If your not staying at any of the 3 Disney Hotels, this is your best bet. I've stayed at most places within walking distance and Hotel Menage is hands down the best in my opinion. The staff was great and the walk wasn't really that bad. Depending on what room you are staying in at the HOJO, there isn't much of a difference.

Pros:
-24 hour access to the pool and hot tub!!!
-Great Happy Hour drink and food specials
-Best place to watch fireworks
-Beds are pretty comfy
-Gas station, Starbucks and Taco Hell across the street.
-Free WiFi

Cons: (not many)
-One of the elevators smelled like barf
