We will be staying at the Hotel Menage near the DLR arriving on 6/3 & leaving on 6/8 (5 nights). I researched online and this looks like a pretty decent hotel, is fairly close & we got it for a good price. I like the fact their pool is 24/7 and you can see the park fireworks from there. Has anyone stayed here? Thoughts? How is the restaurant in the hotel? Do they have a complimentary breakfast? I've read there is a McDonald's close to the hotel. Any idea how close/far that is? Thanks!

I stayed there with my husband about 2 years ago and they did not have a complimentary breakfast at that time. But we did LOVE the Menage! They have a nice restaurant to try...The pool is AWESOME- you can totally see the fireworks from there... the walk to the land isn't too bad... I think it was 10 minutes or less to get to security... Our room was quiet... It was a very nice stay.

McDonald's in on Harbor, it's across the street from DL so you'd have to cross at Manchester to get there, there is also a Millie's and Mimi's on the same walk. :)

I wouldn't say a 10 minute walk, I'd say more like 15, the HoJo is 7-10 depending on who's walking it and the Menage is up and over the overpass so it's past the HoJo. It looks like a nice hotel to stay in tho. :)

Stayed there when is was the Travelodge... so about 10 years ago.
Nice pool, very tropical! The road noise was bad then, for the I-5, right next door.
Maybe they have put in more sound proof walls or window's??

I stayed there a few months ago booked from Hotwire for $65. A great price for a decent hotel.

Pluses are, nice large rooms, quality comfortable mattresses, great pool, good restaurant and bar, not too far to walk to gates.

But I found some things I didn't like as well. This hotel has outside motel style rooms. The walkways are bland brown very cheap motel looking. The back side of the hotel runs right up against I-5 so highway noise can be an issue. The pool while quite nice is open 24/7. This can be great unless you have a room facing the pool and want to get some sleep! The hotel charges $15 parking fee so figure this cost in when booking.

All in all its a nice hotel but no way would I pay full rack rate of $130-$175/nt. Its a bargain if you can get a hotwire or similar low rate well under $100.

We stayed there a year or two back and we won't return. It was a super cheap room and it was fine, just nothing fabulous.

I have to laugh about the comment above that mentioned it being quiet. It was the OPPOSITE of quiet. It was as if the freeway was roaring right outside our door. It is extremely loud there, no matter what side of the hotel you are on. The freeway noise is unbelieveable.

It's geared more toward adults. No "Disney Magic" feeling at all. It's going for a swanky, nightclub atmosphere in the lobby.

Nice bar, nice people that work there. We had cocktails there and it was fun. They have some major food court area with food from around the world, like a street hawkers market thing. Sounded very cool but we never made it there to check it out.

Thank you for this link to your review. I have been looking at the current 3.5 star special on Hotwire and had narrowed it down to the Sheraton on the North side or the Menage. From recent posts looks like it will be the Menage.

We will be going without the kids this time and are deep sleepers, so it sounds like a good deal for us.

You mentioned there or no refrigerators, so that is a bummer, but I like your idea about the cooler with the ice machine handy.

Did they have any shuttle service available for when you were tired of walking?

I don't know how it can be rated as a 3.5 star. It used to be a Holiday Inn at 2.5 star. Menage updated the lobby area making it more upscale with a fancy bar and restaurant area. The rest of the hotel remains the same. I'd still rate it at 2.5. Certainly not a bad hotel if you can get a bargain rate and you're aware of the issues such as parking fee, road noise on back side and late night pool noise for rooms near pool.

Also found on Hotwire at 3.5 star is Anabella but it would say Boutique in the ammenities.

I have stayed there and will more than likely not stay there again. The walk feels long and you cross over a highway overpass where the cars don't like to stop eventhough they are supposed to. There is a crosswalk signal there but those cars come off the highway so fast! The hotel has a "faux trendy" feel, they are trying to hard to be hip. You also have to put a $50 a night hold on your cc when you check in. It is right by the highway so when you are outside that is all you hear but when I was in the room I barely could hear it.

On the plus side the restaurant is great I had a burger there shortly after checking in and it was reasonably priced for the area. I had room service breakfast on the morning I checked out and that was also great!

Now that you mention it, they way that they drew the Disneyland North map with a little dip on the bottom, it could be the Annabella, which would be nicer.

I'm not sure why the Menage got the one star boost, but TripAdvisor has it at 3.5.

The girl who cuts my hair has stayed there. She said it was fine for her and her friends (all single people in their late 20's) because they served cocktails by the pool and made it like a "party" atmosphere. She said the property itself wasn't very nice, and it was very noisy. They ended up driving to the park each day because she said the walk was too far--and very hard to do because of the busy street crossings. She said it was fine for them, but wouldn't recommend it to families with kids. They got it for a great price on Priceline, but she wouldn't pay full prices.

So it is my impression they are catering to a younger crowd who want to get their party on while at Disneyland.
