Hi we just planned a spur of the moment trip:woohoo: and got a great rate on expedia for the Hotel Menage. Has anyone stayed there before. The reviews range from excellent to terrible.
Thanks
Jen

I remember two posters who stayed there. They mentioned it was new, kinda modern & nice......BUT

.....it's on the WRONG SIDE of the freeway. And you can't walk (because of the freeway) to DLR. Which kind of defeats the purpose of being so close since you have to drive/park/waste 30 min./not have a mid day break without blowing an hour to & back/ etc.

Unless they have a dedicated shuttle, I would stay on Harbor NEAR the crosswalk (or on site DLR) instead.

Would love to hear other's opinions, as the hotel itself looked cool. :hippie:

Hi disneylandfreak:)

I offer no advice since I have not stayed there, but I was enticed by the $76 rate on Expedia and booked for a Fri and Sat night in April. I hope I don't regret it, but it sure seems like a nice place from what I have read. For the price, I think it will be fine. ;) A lot of posters stated the restaurant has excellent food and inexpensive prices. Did you read that, too? And yes, it is too far to walk, but the ART shuttle runs there. When are you going? If it is before April, will you let us know what you thought?
Thanks!

Hey, we will be there the end of this month, so I'll definately post and let you know what we thought. We got a great deal of $67 per night and the pictures look great. I always get nervous staying somewhere new.;)

We stayed at Hotel Menage in April 07. Horrible stay. However, they were renivating it and making a lot of changes. The property is so nice! The food rocks! (The service sucks though) They were making a lot of construction noises so we had to move rooms.
It is a nice place to stay. I agree, you wouldn't walk! No way!
Good luck and order the french toast! Yum!

Good to hear they have the ART shuttle. Looks like you have stayed off site, off Harbor before. I hope it works well for you. :thumbsup2

I just booked this hotel for $67 an night for April. I had considered Disneyland Hotel for $300 a night, but decided to spend the extra $230 a day having a lavish time in Disneyland. Me and my daughter can eat a character meal for breakfast each morning and dine at Blue Bayou each night...and still have money left for souvenirs and Build-A-Bear! We're staying 4 nights, so that comes to $920 saved on lodging that we can spend elsewhere...couldn't turn it down.

All I have to say is that this hotel used to be a Holiday Inn. My DH, DS, and I stayed there in July 05 and our car was stolen out of the hotel parking lot as we slept. When the staff was informed of this they did nothing to help us, not even call the PD. They also mentioned that this happens at least 3-4 times a summer. If you are driving, park at your own risk!!

We are going january 26-29th and staying there as well!!!

I think they had some problems in the past, especially before and during their remodel. It looks like they are really trying to make it better though. The manager has even replied to quite a few Trip Advisor reviews.

For the price, I'm willing to give it a try. My only real concern is that it seems to be a party atmosphere. Since we'll be there during the week, hopefully there won't be too many wedding or reunion parties. We go to Cabo and Cancun too though, so I'm pretty good at steering my DD7 away from that stuff...even when it's right in front of us!
