pirate:;)pirate:pirate:pirate:pirate::dance3::dance3:We stayed at Marriott LBV in Feb 09, no probs at all, good location etc, but we got fed up of eating out all the time,
We are going again Oct 2010, there is only me and my DW, so we though a villa would be too big but we would like to do some of our own cooking,
A - to save ££££££££$$$$$$$$$$
B - Got fed up of eating out all the time
Should we stay again in a hotel or shall we go for a villa?
Can you get a smaller villa for 2 adults?
Any good Villa websites???
Many Thanks

Hi there,

Even though there are just the 3 of us we have been staying in private villa's for many years.
Mainly because of our son's special needs, but we do enjoy the extra room and freedon of a villa, having to cook isn't a downside also as we rarely eat out.

To be honest I wouldn't necssarily say it is a cost saving exercise grocery wise, especially as it is fairly cheap eating out at restaurants in Florida.
On this year's holiday we spent a fortune on groceries, and you also have to bear in mind you will probably have to buy non-food items also.
Toliet tissue, kitchen towels, bin liners and the usual things you may need when staying in a home..so all that does add up cost wise, you may even have to buy salt, sugar and things like cooking oil too.

I am never stayed in a condo type apartment, though we have stayed in DVC Disney accomodation , again this doesn't really save money - just the opposite probably.

If you really want a villa, I wouldn't get anything bigger than a 3 bedroomed and you would probably save a bit of £$ too with this sized home.

Attached are some direct links to smaller villas, any questions 'give us a shout' :)

We stay in a "hotel" complex of condo's which offers the closeness to disney and the convenience of villa facilities and massive room space. We stayed last year and are staying in the same place this year - Cypress Pointe Grand Villas and next year we are staying in a different but similar complex - Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa. Best of both world's and very close to Downtown Disney.

We found the Spring Hill Suites at Marriott Village very comfortable and it had a mini kitchen which meant we could cook our own meals which we picked up at Publix when we wanted a change:thumbsup2 The hotel is lovely and all the access walkways are internal with good secure door locks. Plenty of lifts plus they had a gym and a kids club when we were there. The pool was good too and the staff were excellent. Yes you pay a bit more but the room was lovely even the bathroom was a good size. You also got 2 t.v.s to watch and a work desk and sofas and internet access and lots of wardrobe space too. Only down side for us was they stopped doing the complimentary shuttles to US/IOA and Seaworld but you could get around that by ringing Mears for a taxi (get a quote before you go 24 hr help line).

For October next year they might be offering the 42% off at OKW and SSR again. I'm not sure if you can get the 1 bedrooms with the 42% also, btu if you cna it might be a good option!

We always stay in a 3 bed villa for 3 of us. I love the space after having done hotel rooms for years. Yes you get sick of eating out all the time, but we always get at least one gigantic pizza and a chinese takeaway - whichare half the price of a one at home. And we maybe 1 or twice go and get a cooked chicken at wallmart - just like asda here - and have a lovely boring tea with some rice and salad, its great after heaps of chips etc in a restaurant and you use the rest the next day for lunch if you're having a morning in the villa.
You can spend a bit on groceries for but as my DH says "we'd have to shop for a fortnight if we were at home anyway" and I suppose he's right. Mind some essentials like sugar, coffee etc I take with me and milk bread etc you would buy at home.
Some web sites do have 2 bed villas - try
holiday-rentals/owners direct.co.uk/villas4all.co.uk
or do a google search for florida villas etc
happy hunting
