I can get a Ding fare out of Indy to Orlando for about $83.00 round trip. The flight out of Indy is at 8:35 a.m. and since I live two hours from Indy, it might be good to spend the night in Indy since it's an early morning flight. Does anyone know a cheap, clean hotel near the airport in Indy? TIA.

go to www.biddingfortravel.com and use the information to bid priceline. Thats what we always do. I know we usually bid 3*s and get the raddison. We have paid anywhere from $28-$40 depending on when it is. Once when I needed several rooms I bid $25 1* and got the baymont. It wasn't bad, but they don't have transportation to the airport.

You could check out Adams Mark Hotel. Close to airport, got for $45 on priceline.com.in May. Has transpotation to airport. Found out later that could leave car there instead of paying parking at airport. I am not sure If you have to pay full price to do it. Still might be cheaper than paying parking at airport, depending on how long you are gone.

We did the same thing....priceline one star....only one star in the Indy Airport zone is the Baymont Inn. We knew this was plenty nice for our purposes, and it was. You can also leave your car in their parking lot--a taxi to the airport and back would have cost much less than parking, but DH opted for paying airport parking for the added security. (Snow covered car in the hotel parking lot would have been a wee bit conspicuious.) Baymont was great for us ...we drive four hours from Michigan to Indy and spend $30 for Hotel, to get our Southwest flights from Indy instead of Chicago because it's soooo much cheaper.

We used Priceline, too. Bid 35.00 and got Hampton Inn, where we were allowed to leave our car for the week and use their airport shuttle, at no extra charge.
Also included breakfast (waffles, cereal, yogurt, pastries, fruit).
Just to park at the airport for the week was going to cost us 60.00, so, this was a great deal!

Where did you get $83.00 round trip from Indy? We are going last of October and 130 is best I can find. Thanks

That $83 fare was a Southwest Ding fare from Indy to Tampa. I wasn't able to get it because I couldn't get it to come up on my home computer, only my work computer and I ran out of time to get back to work to purchase. However, my sister purchased six of those tickets for her family. That was such a great price! I'm hoping for a Ding for Louisville to Orlando! Louisville doesn't get many low fares like that but I'm still hoping.

(I just re-read my original post and noticed that I stated that the flight was from Indy to Orlando. I'm so sorry that I gave incorrect info. originally. I guess I was just too focused on Orlando. We've flown into Tampa from Indy before and it was fine doing it that way.)

We flew from Indy to Orlando in June for a Ding fare of 90.00/pp.

The lowest I"ve ever seen out of Louisville was 89.00/pp one way, plus all of the assorted fees.

It was well worth it for us to make the drive to Indy.

We've flown from Louisville to Orlando for $136 roundtrip in the past. I don't really expect to get a good fare out of Louisville. It just doesn't seem to happen. If I have another chance for a fare of $83 - $100 out of Indy, I'll grab it.

we've had much better luck out of Indy & Nashville, not many deals to be had out of Louisville lately. I wonder why that is?

Madge,

I've wondered the same thing. I prefer flying out of Louisville because I live right across the river and it takes 10 - 15 minutes to get to the airport. I've wondered if the fares are higher out of Louisville because of the new construction that's been done there. The airport at Indy isn't as nice as Louisville. I just don't know why we can't get good deals out of Louisville but I certainly wish we could.
