We are going down in less than 2 weeks and have reservations at All star movies. I have read some bad reports or the all star movies and was wondering is one better than the other?

We are going with 3 adults and 2 boys (5 and 2) and are getting 2 rooms. Is there a bigger room that we all can stay at for around $200 a night?

Any way to get last minute room discounts?

Thanks for your help!

I can't speak for All Star Movies, but 2 years ago we stayed at All Star sports, and had the same concerns. When we got down there, we were very pleased with the value... everything was clean... the refill cups were a great value.

The two rooms worked out great for the 5 of us (2 adults 3 kids, adjoining).

The next year, we did a step up to Coronado Springs, and while the pool was a little nicer, I don't know that I'd stay there again... the hybrid cafeteria-but-we-get-your-drinks was a turn-off.

We saved a little more on the room by buying an annual pass and going again just before it expired...

Hi!

We stayed at AsSports on our first trip to Disney and my boys (including my husband) loved it! CM's were wonderful and everynight we were excited to see our new TowelAnimals. At our stay at AKL this past December....we didn't get a one :sad1: Have a great time!

All stars is just fine. NO frills but a great location, clean (but small) rooms. Huge pool the kids will love, great bus service, nice game room, good food court. having two bathrooms and a seperate room you can put the kids down early in will be really nice.

Relax and enjoy.

We stayed at ASMO in June 2004 and will be again Feb.23-28, 2006. Toy Story building. My grandson was almost 4 last time and LOVED IT. Woke up every morning - to run on our balcony to say goodmorning to Buzz and Woody.

We had 2 adjoining/connecting rooms - which worked out awsome. Was me, DH, 2 young-adult daughters and 4 yo grandson. 2 bathroolms was heaven :worship: and we just kept the door between open most of the time.

The rooms are on the small size - but pretty typical - 2 beds, chest, table/chairs, bathroom. How much time is really spent in your room anyways?

I'd definetly recommend it - the food court was great, food was good and I thought very reasonable. NO trouble with the buses at all (last week of June).

Hope you have a ball!

The values are sooo great for kids. We've recently stayed at POR and Pop Century. POR was beautiful, but absolutely HUGE. We waited forever for the buses to hit all FIVE Port Orleans stops and the food court didn't seem big enough for such a huge resort. The kids absolutely loved EVERYTHING about Pop. The food court was great and the bus service much better. The rooms are small, but we thought they were totally adequate for two adults and 2 young children. Plus, the values just aren't nearly as spread out as the moderates (never been to a deluxe) and the walks to the food court/buses/etc are so much more visually interesting to the kids! I'll save my money and always stay at values while my kids are young!

Just got back in Nov/Dec stayed in ASMov.. Loved it. Had 3 adults and 2 kids. My 11 yr old son is in a wheelchair. We totally had enough room for us and him in his chair. Connecting room, stayed in Buzz. Was perfect for my family.

We stayed at ASmo and OMG, We loved it! DD (3.5) was absolutley in love. We were lucky enough to have a room that overlooked the Toy Story Courtyard. I think that the value resorts really capture the disney magic. IMO, esp..ASmo.
We had ajoining rooms with another couple that we were going with. Which was perfect. When we wanted to leave the doors open, we did and when we watned to close them, we did that as well. I could see that being perfect for a larger family that still wants the value.
Good Luck

I think you will be happy with Movies. I was a little skeptic, too, but it turned out to be wonderful. The room sizes were fine, IMO, especially for the amount of time you spend in them! We also had connecting rooms with our extended family and it worked out great. We had no problems with the cleanliness of the room. I will stay there again. Have fun!! :flower:

Just got back last night from 10 days at All Star Movies. We've stayed there on 4 of our last 5 trips, and have always loved it. We've stayed in the Dalmations, Fantasia, and Toy Story (twice) sections. The resort, IMO, is the best Disney themed resort. You just can't beat walking through Andy's Room on your way to the bus in the morning. Having said that...we will not be staying there again.

The room we were originally assigned to was filthy...including a mysterious brown, smelly substance smeared on the bathroom wall...and mousekeeping did not clean it up after 3 calls requesting that they do so. It's no fun having 2 small kids and an unusable bathroom. We were transferred to a different room the following afternoon and went through 4 sets of keycards before we found one that would work in the door. CM stated that it was a defective door lock, but no one did anything to replace it. It was always a gamble on whether or not we'd be able to get into our room without calling maintenance. My keycard never did work. CM's were less than helpful with the resolution of both problems.

The bus service has always been excellent, but it has definitely declined since our 2004 trip.

It's a decent resort for what you pay, but it has seen better days. We were really disappointed in the customer service at the resort this time around. We'll be spending our dollars elsewhere in the future.

Thanks, we stayed there 2 years ago and I liked it but I have SO many people say it is dirty now.

Is POP better?

Thanks.

You could all stay in one room at POR, and you would then have the pool slides which I think at least - if your kids enjoy pool slides would make up for the lack of fun theming. The bus service was a bit slow, but I have heard that about values as well. It is a VERY spread out resort and with three small children you would want to be as close to the lobby as possible. The map of the property can be deceiving, one building will look closer to the pool than it actually is, but if you are able to get close to the lobby, the big pool with slide is right over the bridge, the food will be close by , as well as the marina, where you can take a boat over to POFQ (and use their pool which has a fantastic dragon slide) or even to DTD> I think this resort is great! You would also save money. You would need to ask for a trundle room, and you would have a trundle for your 2 year old. If having lots of space is not too important, go for POR! When we were there, had we wanted to we could have had the quiet pool all to ourselves nearly every night. The kids played for hours at POFQ, we actually had to drag them out of there! I would look at
www.allearsnet.com
and look at the photos of both resorts. BTW - it is because your dc is 2 that you can use the one room at POR!
