Hotel for 2 couples and 3 kids

Hey all, another question! We usually stay at Desert Inn and suites as we could stay in an executive suite for 120-130 a night during summer. Each couple got a queen and the kids shared the pullout. It was perfect. We loved the location, breakfast was decent and we fit comfortably. We now have another little one so don’t know if they’ll let you stay in the same room. To go up to the suites is double the price (well over 200 a night before parking and fees). Any other decent option for our crew? At a price we can afford?

She was 1 last time and they let us but for our next trip she’ll be 5!!!

Thanks for the thought but our one must is within walking distance. We’ve stayed at used to be Super 8 (now Kings ?), then LaQuinta, And last 3 times at Desert Inn. We love the short walk if we forget something or need a break.

What's your max price point? (Original post sounds like under $200?)

PS- For what its worth, $150 is about the going rate on Harbor for a 2-queen room withOUT a pull-out couch for the kids.

Camelot has a King bed in one room and 2 queens in the other with one bathroom. Not sure how low of price you're looking at, but you might check that one out! It's really close walking distance too.

I think the king bunk suite at homewood suites is $220. But that may only be if you book for a week.

Its 3 single beds a king and one in the living room.

Double is unfortunately the new normal. The room I booked at Tropicana in 2016 for $79 is now $204, DI&S used to go as low as $69, now more like $149...and so on. Rates have increased dramatically in the last couple years.

Bolding mine. In 2012, at my first adult visit, I paid $44/noc for a 2-queen at Super 8 Katella (now Knights Inn, I think?) in Feb. In May of that same year, it was up to $65/noc. A year later, they were approaching $90/noc.

Around 2013, we had a 3-queen suite at Park Vue, it was around $180/noc before military and/or returning guest discounts. 2014, their 2-queen room was $149 in Feb, and $69 at Desert Inn and Suites for the closest equivalent room. Now, for the 2-queen room at PVI for our trip June 2019 is over $200.

This summer we paid $159/noc at Tropicana (1 king room), but next summer the same exact room is at $205 with our military discount...

So now as a solo traveller, I'm having to choose between reasonable prices or closeness.

Wowzers. We like being all in one room (one hotel room, could be seperate rooms) as the grandparents love to be with our kids. Really going to have to save up for the new size rooms!!! Thanks for the tips and the acknowledgement that this is the new norms!!!
