DH has a convention and I'm trying to figure if we can afford to bring myself and our baby but I need to find a hotel first that is mid way between the convention center and Disneyland. Since it's just going to be me and the toddler, I don't necessarily need it to be super close (across the street) but would prefer it to be easy to walk (less than a mile). OR if there is something next to the toy story parking lot I can do that too..

Help! There are SO many choices!:scared:

The convention center isn't right across the street from DL, but it's definitely not a couple of miles away either. From DL, it's down Harbor, across Katella, and maybe another block down. Some people walk to DL from the convention center hotels. Others take a hotel shuttle, the ART, or the bus from the Toy Story parking lot. We went with DH to a convention several years ago. We stayed at the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites, right across from DL. He walked to the Hilton (right next to the Convention Center), several times. He said it was a little long, but not too bad. You could stay at the one of the hotels at the corner of Harbor and Katella and be within a fairly easy walk to either place. There's a new Springhill Suites at the corner that looks nice. There's also the Desert Inn and Suites (different from where we stayed, similar name). There's also the Ramada Plaza a little ways down Katella, next to Garden Walk. If you want a nicer place, look at the Hilton or Doubletree. You can easily pick up the ART to and from DL.

It's a couple miles away, you can't walk straight through the hotels to get there.

Which convention center? The Anaheim Convention Center has an entrance on Katella, across from the back of California Adventure. If that is where his convention is, the hotel in the middle is actually a Disney hotel, Paradise Pier.

Driving around there it does seem far, but look at Google Maps and you see how compact it all is.

How strange, when I was looking it was coming up as 1.3 miles from the hotels across the street at Disneyland.

Thanks for the ideas! I'll check them all out!

That's odd!

Assuming it's the Anaheim Convention Center, the Hilton is *right there*. And it's an easy walk up to an across Katella and up Harbor to get to the main entrance of Disneyland.

Or there's the Anabella; if staying there, cross Katella and and walk up along the street that goes by Paradise Pier and the Grand. Go into the Grand and use their entrance to DTD to get to the esplanade and the parks.

I was going to say Anabella too. Its a short walk to the parks through the Grand and is basically next door to the Convention Center.

Okay, that's what I thought I saw from our window at PPH. Not necessarily across from the main gate, but across Katella.

The Candy Cane Inn is also a popular choice among Disers and I think about 1/2 way inbetween.
