hotel discounts for July?

Any advice on getting discounts for the on-site hotels at Universal Orlando?

I want to stay at the Royal Pacific Resort in July for Leakycon 2011 (a Harry Potter conference). I wasn't fast enough to get in on the discounted block of rooms reserved for the conference at that hotel. I wasn't fast enough to get an AAA discount on a standard room. (I called today and was told that the only rooms left with the AAA discount are the most expensive rooms.)

Any tips for getting discounts, or am I stuck paying rack rate if I want to stay at that hotel?

Lurking...I'm in the same situation so I hope you get some good answers. I'm thinking about asking for an annual pass for Christmas and hoping that will give me a discount for my room. I'm glad there are others headed to the con!!
