I need a great hotel for my first 2 nights before staying at AKL. Can anyone recommend a great hotel close to Disney that has amazing amenities..ie: pools, waterslides etc? I have a 3 and 6 year old that are pool crazy!

Cleanliness is a MUST!!

Thanks! :)

I've heard great things for years about the Caribe Royale resort. The pools at the Universal hotels are great too.

Gaylord Palms. Your kid will love everything about it! In addition to their great website, look at Cypress Springs Gaylord Palms videos on youtube.

Any reviews yet about the water slides that opened at the Marriott World Center? I saw a lot of hype and promotions but havent heard from anyone about them.

the 3 new slides look AMAZING- you can see them on youtube. However, ya gotta be 48 inches for them and I highly doubt a 3yo and 6yo will make it. They do have a kiddie slide that looks nice but would probably be more the 3yos speed.

I haven't looked at this hotel yet, but its on my to do list for today, thanks!!

Great!! Actually, my 6 year old is tall, and just over 48 inches, so he could do them! Not my 3yr old though, but he likes the kiddie slides, so could work out perfectly! I'm checking this out soon!

Thanks:)

We stayed 1 night at Coco Key and we did NOT like the place. Room was old and barely functional, sofabed was broken and we had to move at 11:30pm when we wanted to go to sleep... no outlets in room... air conditioning barely adequate.

The Nickelodeon hotel has a large waterpark. It's pricey for what you get but my DD begs to go back because of the waterpark!

boy that is bad - will cease to recommend it.

did you complaint to the Dis - this is one of their recommendations.

We stayed at Coco Key and our room was right near the big pool area and it was brand new inside. So new that they didn't even have all the covers on the ceiling pipes.

We stay at the Fantasy World Resort, it is a couple of miles form DTD on 192 right where it begins. They have 2 great slides (might be too much for young kids) but also have a fantastic lazy river and an adjacent surfing machine. The pool bar is also fantastic with great happy hour. It is a condo resort with 2 BR, 2 bath with W/D. I usually pay about $100 but popularity seems to be increasing so paid more this year! Great place!

There is a great slide and a large zero entry pool at the Hilton parc Soleil. Check it out:

I'm anxious to see the new pool at the Marriott Orlando World center (we may stay at Sabal Palms over spring break, got an owner's discount booked for now). But, for younger kids, I would look into Marriott's Harbour Lake - they have a great water play area for young kids! Plus, it's gated and safe feeling, and a small resort so it's easy to get around (I love it there, our rooms were always super clean and nice and quiet). Plus, if you get a one bedroom or larger, you'd have your own washer/dryer, so you can do any laundry before you leave. They have pizza delivery from Cypress Harbor across the street, and sandwiches also down at the bar area.

I'm sure there are many other options too; good luck, and happy planning!

We stayed at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek this summer. They have a big pool complex with a lazy river. The water in all of the pools is not deep, so it's perfect for your kids. In one of the pools there's a zero entry. There's one slide that works well for kids.

The entire hotel and complex were very clean. (I do recommend bringing your own tubes or noodles for the lazy river though... the ones they sell are expensive). You also can't beat the location of the hotel -- it's almost on Disney property. Request an upper floor room, the views are amazing in either direction! We had a room on the 16th floor overlooking Downtown Disney.

I was checking rates for a spring trip. One of the options says "includes surf tickets". Do youpay extra for the slides and lazy river?
