Hotel choices close to convention center first, DL second?

I'm not at all familiar with the Anaheim convention center. Which hotels are the closest in terms of easy and safe walking to it? It's very hard to tell from a map.

That's my main priority. Then, how long of a walk is it from the hotel to the Disneyland resort? I can also drive there.

The Hilton and the Mariott are considered the main convention hotels. Also close are Anabella, Desert Palms and Candy Cane Inn. They are all a 10-20 minute walk to the parks, although now that there is construction in the south parking lot I would not try walking from Hilton or Marriott. We will be staying at Anabella in December for a convention. It is right next to the Convention Center and about a 10-15 minute walk to the parks, although we will probalby use ART most of the time. Candy Cane is a little further from the Convention Center but they have a free shuttle to the parks.

Carol, thank you for the reply. So not taking the parks into consideration, but only the walk from the hotel to the convention center, is the Hilton or the Marriott closer to the convention center, or is it about equal?

they are both equal, i never stayed at the hilton, but i have stayed at the marriott atleast 12 times and liked it.

The Hilton is the closest, right next to it; out the door and across the walkway and you are there. I have stayed there twice, once for a convention and once because I got a really good package deal. The Marriott is across the street from the Hlton.

I'd recommend the Marriott, if you can get it. It is a nice hotel, and right next to the convention center.

I too have stayed at that Marriott & was very happy with it. We were only there for DL so I didn't pay attention to the CC, I remember seeing it though. Also, it's been a few years but when we stayed there they had a regular shuttle going to & from DL. It was a very short ride...

The Hilton is the best choice, nicer rooms and better pool, plus they do offer Disney views, the Marriott is just okay but it is the same price, the housekeepers are not as good so the rooms are just a little let up kept and the pool is only 3 ft deep all the way around so it is pretty much just a waste of space if your trying to get wet. they hilton also blocks the marriotts view of disney so no good views unless you want to look out your window and see the hotel you should have stayed at(the hilton). they are both right on convention way parallel to each other, so the distance to they convention center is the same, also the bus route from disney is practacally the same also the hilton is bus 4 and the marriott is bus 5 but you can take either to get to either hotel. i would obviously recomend the hilton i have stayed at both many times and i would never stay at the marriott again after the recent Hilton upgrades.
