Hi all,

This is my first post - please be gentle.

I am planning to go to DLP in May with another family. There will be me and the wife, 3yr old, 18 month and the other family (2 adults and 2.5 yr old).

A few years ago, my family stayed at Explorers but the problem was that we had to go to bed the same time as the kids. Good for a few days but not all of the holiday.

This year I thought we could go for 2 explorer rooms with a bunk room between. It would let us put the kids to bed and then all the adults to go into the other and relax/watch telly, drink wine, etc....

Are there any other options? I would like the flexible accomodation but at a disney hotel. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi small and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2: We are a friendly bunch here so please join in any other thread or start a new one for each question :goodvibes

Are you coming with your own transport as the cabins at Davy Crockett Ranch might be an option :)

We weren't planning to as I didn't fancy the 6 hours drive home at the end of the holiday.

Nearby is the Marriot (Ile de France , i think the name is). It has a townhouse which sleeps 6 . Downside is that isn't on a free bus to park but I believe they can arrange a minibus for a small charge. Any review I've heard has been positive. Try having a look on the marriot.com website.

Are the 2 infants light sleepers? If you prefer to be on site then maybe ajoining rooms might be an option. Both children could be put to sleep in the one bedroom, while the adults are next door. Then you could transfer one over when it was the adults bedtime :teeth:

Welcome to the DIS small - we're always gentle here!! :wave2:

I feel just the same as you - I don't really like sharing just one room with the children and being forced to go to bed at the same time.

I love the look of this place and really want to try it one day - for the accomodation you get the prices can be really good if you check around. Here are some reviews of the place and here is the Marriott website.

You could always hire a car to use between the village and DLP. Either from the airport or possibly arrange it through Marriott when you get there.

Why is this so complicated? The stuff from the travel agents was next to useless.

I don't mind the explorers and it looks like the bunk rooms are flexible plus that is unique across the hotels.

It is good that the Explorers has that option and something which the on-site hotels have still to offer
Hopefully with support from everyone on the boards you'll feel you have more information to sufficiently enlighten your travel agent :thumbsup2

The sharing the bedroom is why we choose Davy Crockett Ranch plus price.. We were there last June & had a 2 bedroomed cabin. Which meant we had room to relax plus separate bedrooms.

Of course as previously stated you have to have a car. If the drive back is a problem have you considered breaking up the journey home & staying in a motel either in France or Uk?

We have decided that we are going to get connecting rooms at New York. We will move one of the kids when we goto bed.

Thanks for all the replies and advice.
