I simply can't make up my mind!

I am just back from a great week in Disney staying at the Marriott village. I was so sad to leave I have decided to go back for 3 nights for my birthday at the end of May :goodvibes This means I can also make use of our annual passes.

I had hoped to book the Dream Castle as I have a voucher for 30% off, but they are fully booked on my dates. I am on a seriously tight budget having only just returned from Disney plus I hope to book the Dream castle and use that voucher over the summer.

I do have the 10% shareholders discount on Disney hotels and judging by the prices I am trying to decide on Sante Fe or Cheyenne. Its a £70 difference to go for Cheyenne, considering money will be tight is it worth it?

Can anyone give some advice please,

Hi,

I kind of know before I even see other replies you'll get on this thread, that I'll be outvoted here :rotfl: - but if money seriously is your consideration (and bearing in mind that £70 difference buys quite a few meals/souvenirs) - I'd go for the Santa Fe.

I've been to the Santa Fe twice, Cheyenne once. I'm going back to the Santa Fe in October this year. The outside theming of the Cheyenne is undeniably better than the Santa Fe, but the rooms are very similar size with similar amenities. The beds at the Santa Fe are very comfy, and our rooms have always been clean. Reception, baggagerie staff etc all very helpful.

Enjoy, whichever one you plump for :wizard: .

Sorry, I just noticed you have an annual pass as well as being a shareholder?
You may get more than 10% discount (possibly up to 30%) on the room price for either the Santa Fe or the Cheyenne if you have a Dream Pass.

You can phone the normal brochure booking number to get a quote with your pass - this could end up being more of a saving, or having a bigger/smaller difference in prices between the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne. And this in turn might help you make your final decision?

I thought exactly the same thing!! :goodvibes The Santa Fe would be my choice in this situation.

God I'm relieved to read this thread I am staying at the Santa Fe for the first time in May and am so used to the Seqouia I was worried that it just wouldn't be the same!

Hi

The pass I have is only Fantasy. So I guess the most discount I can get is the 10% unless anyone knows different :confused3

I will be travelling with my DH and 2 DD's and DS who will be 5 months old, Im bringing my own pram, and will need a cot in the room, ths is not going to leave very much room for anything else, so space matters a bit.

I have to admit that I would go for Cheyenne. I think its fantastic value for money and a million times better the Santa Fe despite only being a slight jump up in price

Can't disagree with any of this sound reasoning. If the criteria is best value for money then Santa Fe :thumbsup2

We were extremely pleased with the Santa Fe in October - we were a little worried as we've stayed at Newport Bay, Sequoia and Cheyenne previously. Room was excellent - the great view over the river and the Cheyenne resort helped, staff friendly, restaurant nice and bright and clean - great bar too. We would stay here again for sure as we liked it, dare I say, probably more than any of the others.

We have stayed at Santa fe twice and stayed at Cheyenne at Easter for the first time. Although we preferred the theming of Cheyenne we would definitely stay at SF again especially if it meant enough money saved for a nice meal.

One thing to consider is that I think all rooms at Cheyenne have bunk beds whereas Santa fe have 2 doubles so you need to consider which may be better for your family. This is why we booked Cheyenne last trip so DS (21)didnt have to share a bed with DD(8)

As previously mentioned as long as your happy with the sleeping arrangements, (although I do know that a past DISer had bunk beds at the SF, so if it's a necessity ring and ask if a bunk bed room is available - Block 14 Room 31 used to be a bunk bed room), I honestly don't think that apart from the theming of the Cheyenne which is fabulous, there is any difference between the 2 hotels.
You're going to get the same size room with the same facilities, breakfast is the same, difference in the walk is negligble and the shuttle buses are equally as busy whichever hotel.
I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Santa Fe :)

We've stayed at both the Cheyenne and Santa Fe, and if I'm perfectly honest both DH and myself preferred the SF.

Big ups to the Santa Fe, I like it. Stayed at the Cheyenne last time and loved it but with Josh (2) the temptation for him to sky dive off those bunkbeds would be to great for him. Santa Fe it is for us and I will comment on the comparison upon my return.

Its booked!!!!

Im staying at the Sante Fe for my Birthday I cant wait, I will have to get my new ticker sorted only 5 weeks & 2 days :goodvibes

Thanks for all the advice, I gues it was pretty much one sided for the sante Fe and now we have the extra for an nice meal at Cafe Mickey

As much as I love the Cheyenne I think you've made the right decision - extra money means the meal at Cafe Mickey with characters which will be fantastic memories.

We stayed at the Santa Fe in between Cheyenne trips and thought it was a really nice place - the bar is where we first heard the Disneymania CDs and since then Denise has been playing them non-stop!

I think you've made the right decision too :goodvibes enjoy your meal at Cafe Mickey!!

My room was broken into and everything of value was stolen when I stayed at the Santa Fe, so make sure that you make full use of the security boxes at reception.

The staff were unhelpfull and didnt really seem to care either, so that really upset us.

The Cheyenne a year later was a complete change. The staff were fantastic and we were treated like VIP's. I am taking my wife again this year and we will be staying at the Cheyenne again.

I stayed in the Santa Fe in January and i enjoyed it, bed were comfy etc. I would agree if on a tight budget then go for the Santa Fe :)
