Hotel check in and Express pass question

Okay, we are going to Universal Studios in July. I booked us one night in one of their hotels so we can get the Express pass. Can I check in at the hotel before the park opens...like at 8:00 in the morning?

I realize that our room may not be available but can we still get our room keys so that we can use the Express Pass at the parks that morning? Or is it not valid until the regular check in time?

Also, can we use Express Pass all day the second day? Or is it only valid until check out time?

Yes! You can do that. We have done so before, and it worked beautifully. The express pass is good all day the day you check out as well.

Yes we checked in at 7 am.
