hot wheels radar gun - quick question

Does anyone have this toy? Can you tell me if you can point it at all hotwheels cars and other objects too (like, a kid running by, or a bike driving by), or does it only work with some hot wheels cars that are compatible.

DS7 really wants this, but I want to make sure that it doesn't ONLY work with a couple of compatible hot wheels cars that have a sensor or something that reacts with the gun.

I'll take any general comments opinions too!

I'm curious too. I thought it would be fun to point at the road, to see if cars are speeding by.. but, at this price, I doubt I could do that. (I mean my kids could do that)

according to the mattel website it does hot wheels speed as well as "real" speed..( shows a kid riding a bike..but doesnt say high it goes... only shows a picture of the gun an a speed at 26 MPH
