Hot Tub Time & Running through WDW: Jan 2025 Trip Report (Completed)

It takes a little bit...we are getting a little hangery... but we are called! Yeah!!
We get a nice table that is on the edge of the action but not in the middle of it by the fire place.

This is our first time dining here so I am pretty excited.
I get the flight mimosas! More places need flights mimosas. I loved this.

My mom got bloody Mary and loved it.


Our waitress makes some funny jokes and does some cute antics when she brings out the drinks.

Here is the dish for fixings.


My mom orders the eggs benedict.

She says it is great.
I order the breakfast skillet... which is unlimited breakfast food... soo prefect for fueling for a marathon tommorow. I love it. Also reasonable priced for unlimited food.


My son ordered chicken fingers. My son also had one of my mickey waffles too.


My dad got the BBQ skillet soo unlimited food too.
Dad thought it was pretty good.


We asked for ketchup for my sons chicken fingers... so u know what that means!
All the ketchup!!!

My dad was not enjoying it... lol.

Also when u ask for more diet coke... a really big glass. Can I have this all the time? I drink a lot of diet soda... lol.


We end up passing on the ketchup too. Soo much fun. No pics of it though.

My son was surprised with cupcake for his birthday.



The whole restaurant sings happy birthday. My son loved it soo much. This place is such a good place for a birthday.

I take some selfie next to the fireplace we were sitting next to us.


Then when u ask for a take home box... they give u a very big box.

Inside the big box there is a smaller box that is usable.

We rolled out of the restaurant. This was such a fun place. A good value to for all the food u got. I saw a lot of other runners there all doing some fueling before the big race.

Best part easy walk back to our cabin.

Next we have our Jedi training. He was a former Jedi Trainer in HS and now you can have him come to your resort for training. My son had soo much for with the training. We got this for him for his birthday. They also would get all in to star wars lore talk. My son had the time of his life. Such a great way for my son to have a special moment and best part... I got to sit and relax while watching him.










We got him for an hour. It was wonderful.

I then just relax for the rest of the evening. I have a marathon. I go and relax in the hot tub for a bit... no picture this time.. I am getting tried.

I do lots of stretching and rolling my legs. Just getting my legs ready for the marathon tommorow.

I eat some left overs in the fridge for dinner and then go to bed. I go to bed at like 6:30 since I have to wake up at 1:30am. Tomorrow the big day.

Wow waking up at 1:30am sucks... is this even morning... my mom and me go through the motions of getting ready... we are both feeling the tiredness.

We head to the 2am bus and it was there, yeah!! No waiting this time.

We make it Epcot and I see this cute frame pic... yep this is what my throw away layers look like. Lol.


We got there soo early the lines for the characters were short. It was the shortest line I have ever seen for Dopey so I get a pic in.

And Goofy was short too... soo... another pic.


And Gene was quick too... man love coming soo early. Get all the pics.


Next bathroom and the head to the disboards group to say hey and wish everyone luck for today. Today everyone has much serious mood.

Then I say goodbye bye to my mom and head to my corrals.


They will starts at 4:30am today instead of the normal 5am. Now I wait...I sit and just save my legs and feet for as long as possible. I am a little worried cause my feet and legs are still a little sore from all the days on it. But I have done a marathon before soo I feel confident... but doing your first Dopey, the doubt always seem to creep in while u wait.

Then we start the long shuffle up and the fireworks go off!





And the marathon begins!

I was there that weekend too (I ran “just” the 10k and the marathon ) and gosh it was cold in the morning…
Congratulations on your races and thanks for bringing us along!
Wow those cabins look amazing… we are DVC members too but I just can’t justify the cabins for my family… maybe some day! (A girl can dream!) and I think a race weekend is the perfect time to enjoy it!

There is no just! I started rundinsey running 10k in 2016 in Disneyland 10ks are great!

The cabins are amazing, worth it for a special occasion and Jan is one the cheapest months so that helps too.

Then Gaston a super long line.

The lines in the beginning are always long.

The beast and bell... a long line again soo skipping.


We are running through Epcot.
Mile 2.

Then abu... I already have a running pic with him so skip.


Then Rafiki waving at us. You cannot stop to take pics. A weird spot for him, he is normally in Ak.

Epcot is soo pretty at night.


We run around the showcase in the beginning instead of the end. It is pretty at night but I mess the crowds cheering us on.


I also got to the bathroom here while we have real bathrooms... soo important.
Mile 3!

And I see a reasonable line with Launch pad, yes!! Soo my first character today.

Then Goofy and Max as powerline... this line was sooo long. I really wanted to stop but to early in the run and my legs and feet are feeling the best....soo I wave goodbye to them.

And pain and panic... soo many good characters... and lines keep being to long for me to risk on a marathon.

Now back to the sucky pench area between poly and GF.... soo I walk mostly again till it spread out again where I can do my pace.

They had the Electric Pagent Parade out again. I did not take a pic of it since I already did it last time. Just ran and enjoyed it.

Back to MK!!


My mom and husband are in the same place. I wolf down my banana. I also quickly put on sunblock... cause I forgot to do it before... and soon the sun will come out.

Take one last pic... man I still have soo much to run...

And I run down main street.


I go the bathroom once I get off main street... again real bathrooms soo important and there was no line.

Ahh thanks. During the half I felt great! But man was I feeling it after the jedi training... hence why like no pics after that point... all the early mornings and time on my feet caught up with me.... I spent soo much time just rolling out my muscles and putting me feet up in the air on the wall and other fun tricks to just to speed up my recovery... I was definitely feeling achy Sunday morning still when I woke up for the marathon.

We see mickey and minnie!


I loove running through the park!!

It is soo fun.

Then we round the corner and we get to run through the castle again! This never gets old.


Man the camera angle is soo bad.. I was looking at the other photographer... lol.. that pic is not going on Instagram.. lol.

Then I peel off to go get my castle pics. I always get my castle pics and they are soo good about getting us through quick.


Then winne the pooh. Line a bit long for aan easy to meet character so I pass him bye.


Next 10 miles!! Double digits and I am still feeling good.


I stop at Bruno & Mirabell. I loove them and could not help myself.


More running through fantasyland.


Then stopped at Sebastian. His line was soo reasonable.. I had too and I have never seen him either.


Next we run under tron. Makes for a great running pic!


Then I see angel and sparky... I have never seen them before... but the line was a little long and man... I still have more than half the marathon to run... so I pass them... I slightly regret it but watch ya going to do.

Woody and Jessie next... they are easy to meet in the parks so I pass them by.


Mile 12..

This area was us running around in a parking lot.. it kinda of sucked. But good news at least my most Fav princess was here. MULAN with Shang! I have never seen Shang and Mulan is the best.... she has the highest death count out of any Disney Princesses
Soo i wait in line. I tell her she is my fav of course too since she is a fighter.


I met some disboard peeps, they spot me and say hey! Man I love our disboard group!

Mile 13 Half way there!!

Next Aladdin and Jasmine


Next we hit mile 14


This mile is the starwars mile. They had fog machines and lasers and sound effects like there was a star wars battle taking place. We all loved this!! This was universally loved by everyone! Such a great way to add in some fun in a boring spot between spot. They had star wars characters to meet too!! Finally!!
Chewie and Vadar had such long lines.... so I had to skip them esp since they are really easy to get pics with in the parks. But loove seeing star wars back in rundisney.



Next Captian Phasma!! Like what!? Who ever sees her!! I freak out and fan girl... have I mentioned the whole family are star wars geeks and I wait in this line... this line could have been super long and I would have waited. But luckliy a reasonable line since I was hearing a lot of people did not know this character... their loss my gain.

Next I see the shortest line with Vi... so why not? Another star wars character. I found out that she was switching out with rey... missed out on that... ohh well.

We are getting close to Ak... I am reading reports that they are not letting runners into single rider on Everest any more... that it is stand by only and it is a long wait now... soo probably not going to ride it. But I figure that was probably going to happen anyways.

And we are in AK!! Yeah!! Love running through AK!
Soo pretty. I try and bad selfie pics with the tree of life.

Well since I cannot ride it... I decided let's do an offical photo infront of Everst. The line was very reasonable. And looks good too.


Now literally when I when I got done with my Everest pic I saw the 6:30 pacing group pass me. I wanted to join a pacing group in between AK and Hs... it is the worse part of the run... Blizzard Beach parking lot of hell.
Soo I catch up and join them.
I say goodbye bye dinoland once last time...

I was thinking about doing triceratops spin ride.... but did not want to lose the pacing group now. That is the problem with pacing groups... it is hard to stop at anything when u are in it. They just keeping going. Soo now I am going to miss alot of character stops... soo sad but better than having the balloon ladies catch me and after AK is where I struggled last time.

So now I am with this mob... I mean pacing group... lol. Mile 17

See the flag... flying up that is the pacer. The flag tells us what pace they are running.

I see coming up where u can meet the animals... I really wanted to meet them... so I ran up ahead of the pace group. Got my cute pics with the donkey! Soo worth it. And here are too many pics with a Donkey!

Guess what time it is....


Blizzard Beach Parking lot time.. bah..
The worst part. U just run around in a circle in the parking lot... they don't even let u go into it... and then back out the same way u came in...


But I have to say... I am feeling much better than I did at this point last time I did my marathon here. Staying with the pacing group really helped me. They tell jokes, keep u on a good pace and do fun games to pass the time. I am really happy I choose to join the group.

Mile 22

Man thia sucks but I am doing good.
Bolt... such a short line but wanted to stay with pacing group. Bye cute little pup.

Mile 23! we are getting close only a 5k left... I can do a 5k in my sleep I tell myself.

The run through HS was soo quick... I blinked out we were already leaving it... at the end of it... I saw the Brother Bears!! Not just one but both!! Time to split from the pacing group. They got me through the hard part now let's meet some more characters!


Mile 24
Also I needed to pee! Lol. Soo after them I went to the bathroom again in the real ones right outside of HS.


Next we run the boardwalk.

And who do I see Boogie man... I have seen him in one of my other runs...but it was such a long line last time. This time super reasonable soo I hop in.


And me running on the boardwalk... I still feel pretty good. Tons of people are walking around me and I am still doing my intervals. Man I feel soo proud of myself and all my training. I am just passing people left and right.


Wow mile 25!! I am almost there!! I cannot believe it!!!

I am in Epcot!! I start looking for my family. They said they would be here!

I start crying when I see them. My son came to cheer me on... even my dad... my whole family was there. All there to cheer me on doing my first Dopey... I love them soo much. I give them big sweaty hug. I am a huge emotional wreck as this point.

My mom got my a drink too! She went to jofferys cart and got lemonade and vodka then brought a cup with a lid so I could run with it. My mom is the best. That drink was the best drink ever.

And best part... that lid made it soo i could run with it.

Mile 26!!


I am almost there!!!

I am doing it!!!



And a see the finishline! I still have gas in the tank I run across that finishline!


And I crossed!!!




Over 48.6 miles.... I did it... all the hard work... all weekends of doing nothing but running... running for over 5 hours on those 20 plus long days.... this plus size 40 year old mom did it. I am soo proud of myself. I know I can do anything and I showed my son anything is possible if u work at it. And guess what anyone who is reading this thinking u cannot do this... yes u can too and u will never regret it!

Ohh and with the balloon ladies no where in sight!

I go through the gauntlet of rundisney... all the medals... the mickey hat too and all the food.
I see my family. I see my son... he tells me he is soo proud of me... I am a crying mess again...lol. Big hug time.


Soo I sat down... and now I have to get back up...okay I feel like I have ran 48.6 miles now...
Why did I sit? Lol.
I hobble over to the I did it picture spot.


Yeah!!

Then we slowly head back to the busses. The men actually head back to the Epcot to have some fun and ride some rides.
Mom and me go to the cabin.
Soo many congrats while walking back to the cabin... I am walking soo funny. Lol. I make it to the cabin and I shower and eat rundisney box food and grazed on food in the cabin. Ohh the shower was nice!
