Hot Tub Time & Running through WDW: Jan 2025 Trip Report (Completed)

2:00 am Man waking up this early is not easy... lol.
Both my mom and me get up, the men stay asleep. It is nice to have this big cabin so we can move out of the bedrooms and get ready in the living room without waking them up.
My mom is not running any more, she does the 5ks only but she is the best runner support crew anyone could ask for... she will be waking up everyday with me and helping me out and cheer me mom.

We eat our breakfast. I eat toasted bagels with cream cheese and a banana. Yeah carbs.

We head out and they had coffee out for us for free. That is soo nice. They ended up having this out everyday other than the 5k.



Bus was quick and we head out.
It is not as cold this morning... still cold but I think perfect running weather. But I like cold better than warm weather esp in running.

I head directly to the characters meet and greats before the lines get to long. I see the cute bunny has a very short line. So I go into it. I then direct mom to wait in Jimmy Cricket line to kill to birds quickly.


She is really adorable.

Then I head to mom where she is still waiting in the line after a bit I get a Jimmy Cricket pic. Mom does not like to join in pics now that she is not running.


Next we head to bathrooms... always importan to pee. I do my last going away pic with mom.

Ohh and here is my inspiration for my outfit... Bloofy and Pouchy from Inside out 2. Not many people got it without me saying it... but guess what I did not see anyone else dressed up in my outfit soo that is nice


I say hello to the disboards people. We have a meet up spot.

Next I say goodbye to my mom and head to the corrals. You have to wait soo long in the corrals if u want to be in the front of them so u can get shorter lines for characters.

So now I sit and wait for an hour...

We start moving up, yeah!

And they start the race. I love that they have fireworks for each wave start.




And then we are off!!

They have characters quick!

Already before a mile in our 1st character.. the lady chipmunk.
How does disney make them soo adorable.. lol.

Next I see the 3 little pigs... the line is long so I skip it.

Then we hit 1 mile.

I see running Jack Sparrow. He is rundisney famous... he stays in character even when running.

Next I see the mad hatter.
Again a long line... so I skip it.

Soo next was Clara Cluck.
This line was reasonable so I hit it up.

Never seen her or have gotten a pic with her, so a nice rare character. Love that.
Then the 2nd mile.

We are getting close to Epcot entrance.
And I see the cute little mice from Cinderella.

The line looked long so I skip it.

I also head to an real bathroom while in Epcot.
I see Twitter dee and dum.. the line looks reasonable so I go into it.

They are not as rare but I have never gotten a pic with them so I happy!
Now we are inside Epcot at mile 3.

I missed taking a pic the Auroa and her prince... it was a very long line... so I past them.
Hey 5k sign!

We were Epcot very briefly but we will come back to it again.


We exit out at England.

And I see another reasonable line.
So I hop in.

Hook and Smee. I have met hook before in Disneyland but not Smee. Soo very excited.
I got up to them and had to wait for them to switch. I chatted with the photographer, he was very nice and use to be a full time cm photographer but lives in GA but comes back for rundisney races. He loves them. Soo fun. We have the best cms for rundisney.

We are now running the boardwalk. Soo pretty at night... I mean early morning.





I see Goofy. Man that line is long!!


Next Donald Duck. His line is reasonable... but he kind of looks naked... in that white tux... lol.


The area is soo pretty.

We are back running through epcot.



I try and get a professional pic infront of the ball....I tried to do a jump shot... I asked the photographer did u get it... they said yep and this is what they got lol...

Next the last character stop Wendy and Peter Pan.

Almost to the finish line!

I spot mom cheering me on at the finishline.

I try to do a finishline jump.. lol

I go through the rundisney gauntlet of getting my medal and all the food and drinks.

I meet back at with my mom and we go to the did it photo pass area.


The photographer actually recognized my outfit and looved it. Always nice when someone gets your outfit.

We then head to the bus. Not a long wait which is nice and we head back to our cabin.

We get back and the guys are awake. So get changed and ready for our next park day. We are hitting up Ak. We wanted to visit Dinoland before it closes one last time.

Xmas decor is still up in Ak.

We normally rush past the front to get to Pandora but since we already missed the start we are taking our time. My son is already checking out the animals.


Grandpa goes and gets a scooter so we get some pics in while we wait.

I get into line for a tree photo for medal shots.



Then we do some family pics.




Next my son sees another digging activity soo we had to check it out.



I love how curious my son is.. he loves this park.

Next we head to Dinoland.
First we das the Dinosour Ride.
My son looves this ride.


We have soo much fun.
Then we head over to Tricirtops spin... the last time to ride it before it is gone forever.



My son is soo sad.
We do a pick infront of another dino statue.


My son next goes to play in the dino play yard... we will miss this so much when it is gone... it looks like this will last a little longer though.

While my son was playing I went to go get pics with Chip and Dale. Esp since they were the ones on the medal and the dino chip and dale are the cutest version ever. Apparently a lot of other poeple thought the same thing... the line was long... soo funny cause in Thanskgiving, I could just walk up to them since they are hidden in the back. But it was worth the wait.




My son still wants to go, go, go... I need to sit and relax... I still have to run a half and a marathon...

So the guys go on the Safari while me and my mom hit up the bar.



We have to hit up the dinoland bar before it closes.
And we get some drinks!
I asked him for the baby yoda drink.


The bar is well known in day drinkers group it was nice to finally try it out and do my coin drink pic.

Next we decide let's continue drinking and go to the nomad lounge. Soo we head on down and I see a photographer next to another amazing like Instagram wall....soo medal pics time.



This wall is everything!

We are now at Nomads and it is soo full u cannot even join the wait list... but they did have room at Tiffans... why not... we have not had lunch yet and u know I need good fuel for my half marathon tommorow.


I love how they talk about all the art around was used to inspire AK. We sat in the main room.

Our drinks first...
I had to get the dessert drink smores martini it is everything I wanted. My mom got the classic Tempting tigress. We both loved our drinks.


I get the lunch special with Truffles... cause I am doing dopey... lol.

This Burger is sooo amazing!!! The Truffles just made it over the top... soo much yummy Truffles.
And the waffle fries were amazing too... the Truffle package is worth it!

My mom went with Shrimp & Grits
South African Mealie Pap with Roasted Corn and Goat Cheese, Peri-Peri Shrimp, Green Tomato-Apple Chutney

She looved it. It was delicious. Look at the Shrimp size!

What was great about Burger it inlcuded a dessert too. So we had a really yummy dessert to share.

Soo chocolate and smooth. Wow it was just amazing.
Overall was Tiffans expensive... yes but was it worth it. Yes... Disney prices have gone up everywhere... I feel like if we are going to pay alot anyways make sure it is good and I can't believe this level of a restaurant is here in a park. I noticed many other runners doing the same thing I was getting that Burger. Come during lunch time for that special.

We roll ourselves.. soo good.

I found out they men ate lunch at dinoland...my husband did not take pics.. silly husband.. did u really eat if u did not take pics of it.. lol.
But he did take more pics of them checking out the animals.



I was told my son loved seeing the kid gorilla.

And he completed more of wilderness explorer badges.


After mom and me had our lunch we head out of the park. They stay behind and we catch a bus back.

When we went back, I wanted to check out the Boulder Creek lobby to see Walts original train. I cannot help myself... I am a disney nerd.
Love me some dinsey history just tucked away in this little corner.


Walt touched this... just saying.

Soo now we head back to our cabin and guess what time it is??

Hot tub time!!!

This may be a theme of this trip... lol
I relaxed in here for a bit. Some point the men made it back and my son told me all about his adventures. I get out of the hot tub and start getting everything ready. I forgot to take a layout pic... Oops.

My dad makes us dinner. He goes to the gas grill disney has for us Cabins. My dad made a comment that they are soo nice he wants to look into buying that type of grill. He makes us steak and sweet potatoes for dinner. Yummy. I love having some good protein and carbs before a run. It is nice to save a little money while still having a great meal and not having to leave the cabin.



And then I head to bed early again... man does running mess with sleep.

Another 2 am morning..
We get changed and eat our normal breakfast.
We come out and looked around no bus...
The bus lady said they where holding them back and had not released them yet even though they should be here by now...
We keep waiting and waiting...

Line builds up... she keeps saying her boss was saying disney is not letting the busses go...
We are hearing from other rundisney people their busses are there... that we are the only ones being delayed... so tell your bus boss... to get us a bus... Disney is not delaying it for anyone else.
We do not get a bus till after bit after 3am... the first bus is suppose to run at 2:30... we are pissed... we could have slept in a half an hour longer if we knew it was not going to come till 3... our bus lady ended up begging to her bus to borrow a bus from another resort. We got one from OKW. When the bus driver arrived we all thank him soo much... we said he was our first bus and he was very suprised... he has already done one run at OKW.
So later I heard through the grape vine... that the reason wilderness lodge and apparently fort wilderness busses did not arrive on time... they thought all of us were riding the monorail since Contemporary was on our bus loop. For those who do not know on Half and Marathon day they open the monorail to get to the race...so no busses needed for those resorts. And wilderness lodge and fort wilderness share our rundisney busses with Contemporary. The busses are private contracts so they do not know disney resorts as well as cms soo it showed then.

We finally make it 45 mins later than we have ever been before. That means I had to skip meeting my morning characters
I go to the bathroom and do some quick pics with my mom off my outfit.


Then head to disboard group meet up spot. We were small world themed They waited for me... since i was posting on the boards they knew what was going on and did our group pic.

Then we got a group pic of everyone. My mom took the pic... again best runner supporter.


Then we head to the corrals. Normally I like getting there when it opens up to get a good spot... but since bus was late it I take what I can get. Luckliy it is not cold at all today... so no layers crazy layers needed. I use one of my layers to sit on which was nice... then it started to rain... I cover my self up in my poncho I packed and the myler blanket and basically make a dry tent spot. And now I am here for like an hour.... the problem is u move out of the position u get wet... also puddles started forming around me... I needed to keep my feet dry so I would not get blisters...
And here i sit... I start making friends with the people around me who are also trying to keep dry. We all joke around we paid a lot money to suffer... I was definitely question life choices as my back was getting sore and legs were cramping all while trying to stay dry. The rain let's up a bit and now is more just misting.
I get up when we start moving. I am soo thrilled to be wet and running as u can see..

I see the puppet runner. He runs with his puppet all the time. Very nice and cool.

And then we are off.


My mom was stuck through the rain with her heavy duty poncho. Luckily she came prepared too. And I spotted her cheering us on at the start.

And we are off...
It is still very moist out... so my photos are not the best since this mist is every where... including on my lens. I plan on skipping the first characters... lines are always long in the beginning..
First character Cruella

Then Mary Poppins and Bert.

Then penguins! The penguins i would have stopped at if the line was reasonable... but sadly they were not... look how cute are they.

First mile done.

Then mile 2.

I see baloo out lines are starting to get a little shorter.


Next I see a trailor... just fyi every character has a trailor next to them for them to rest in and change soo when u see a trailor u know there is a character. I see the character spot empty but I see the cm open the trailor door and I see the character peek out....so I go right to the photo spot and got to be first in line. Score!! Apparently they went in for a bit to hide from the rain. So I got a pic with a super rare character King Louie! I have never seen him before.


Next mile 3.


Then my next character Prince John! Another super rare character! The line was very reasonable.


And then Sheriff of Nottingham! Wow soo many rare characters... if it was not soo moist right now I would be in heaven. Again very reasonable line.

Mile 4 next

Ohh Marie! Soo cute but such a long line... I pass her.


We are now to the worst part of the course. They changed it this year... and we are going past all the construction around Poly and GF... it is very dark... the road is torn up. I heard later a lot of people twisted their ankles here... not surprising... and we get squeezed into a space they can only fit two or 3 people across... I give up on running it is soo tight ans packed. I just walk since it is impossible to run. I really hate this part of the course.

Then we get passed GF and we take the new walkway from GF to MK and we see this, the electric pagent parade!!!

Okay I do loove this... but it is still ridiculous crowded... soo I still walk but at least I have a pretty view while I walk. I wish they would space out the corral waves more so these crowds could be more manually.

And MK!! This is why we run... to run in the most magical place on earth.


I call my mom to ask where she is and she said next to the tree.
I found them and found my husband did wake up to cheer me on!!

I eat a banana my mom brought. I love real
food for fueling.

I am soo thankful for my family coming out and cheering me on even in the rain for me. Esp my husband is not a morning person and was not awake when we left... but he still made it to MK. Fyi... for spectators... u want to take the last bus from the resort for rundisney like normally around 4. And then u take the monorail from Epcot to MK. U get free access to mainstreet to cheer on your runners. Seeing them was a highlight ️ soo if u ever come to support a runner know they do some special things for spectators too.

I see minnie and mickey... wow such a long... long line.. soo I skip them.

Now the coolest part running through the castle!!

Have your pose ready for running out of the castle... they always have a photographer there.


Then they have mutiple photographers out infront of the castle for offical pics. I always get one of these. They are quick too since they have mutiple. So this is me waiting in line.

This is the offical pic... one of my fav castle pics I have done. That perfect time of sunrise where u still see the projections but your not washed out with a flash!


Next we run through Tommorowland.


And a short character lines finally again and a rare character I have never seen before. Wilber from Meet the Robinsons. I am all about meeting the rare characters I cannot meet in the parks.

I see another short line with Big Al... yes u can see him in MK... but I cannot skip a short line.

The long run back to epcot now...
Piglet was the next character and the line was reasonable so why not? Piglet is soo cute.


Then mile 8


Apparently no characters this mile... probably had music... normally that is what they do when there are no characters... I just don't remember...lol.

Then I see Tigger and again a reasonable line soo I jump in. Lol... see what I did there.


Then I see a long line coming up... super long line... it is Donald and Daisy in the cutest unique western outfits I have ever seen. The line is just to long... I have plenty of Donald and Daisy pics... even though none in those cute outfits


Then mile 10


And next rare character sighting Robin Hood!! I have gotten soo many from that movie! Love it!!

A super quick line with shaker so I get in for a quick pic.

At the entrance of Epcot I see Meko.. he is soo cute and reasonable line so decided to join in.

Then next Dark Wing Duck... let's get dangerous! Soo yes I have to meet him.

Mile 13... poor number fell down.. lol.

I see the choir! U know u are about to make it when u hear them.


I run down the shoot and see my mom and husband cheering me on from the top of the bleachers!

And I cross the finishline!



I go through the rundisney gauntlet of food and medals. I grab all the things and meet my family at the offical photo spot. I give them a big moist hug... lol. It was a moist run...

And I do my offical I did it pics.


We head back to the bus to head to our cabin. Luckily the busses were there for us

Overall super happy with my performance even though it was crowded and moist most of the run. I got in a lot of rare characters and tons of compliments on my outfit including photos in front of small world and great castle pics. Just wish it was less crowded.

Tommorow I still have to run the marathon... eep.

Back in our Cabin. Man do I love saying that.. we shower and change... I love wearing dry clothes. We do a little cheers and open the bottle of champagne and save the rest for tommorow.


We head to the main lobby for our brunch at Whispering Cafe restaurant.
We check in and we hear they are a little behind.
We have not had much time to really look at the lobby so now we take that chance.


It is soo cool how they have the spring start in the lobby.



I am just having fun with pics... lol.



I have been to Old Faithful Inn a few times and it does look soo similar.
