Does anyone have any ideas regarding which toys will be the hot, hard-to-find, toys this holiday season? I wonder which toys I'll need to get rihgtaway and which ones can wait for awhile.

TIA,

For little ones the guy at Disney Store told me they were getting in some Jojo's circus toys that would be going fast. Then he said "Well, they better go fast or we'll be in trouble". :p

bumping up!!! i have an 8yr old boy and no idea what to get him for christmas.

Around here the kids seem to be talking about the Teen Titans tower. (4-7 years old) I have got it covered with 2 already in the garage!

My older Ds who is ten, wants a radio controlled Hummer. That is A 100 dollars. I will pick that up tommorow. Other than that for his age, he wants lots of wrestling games for game cube and Misc Lego sets. After the Hummer is bought tommorow, I am officially done with all my Christmas shopping!

Terrain Twister by Tyco looks like it will be a big seller. Also, Matchbox Hero City Rocket Park looks like it may be big.

For girls, my daughter is going crazy over the 5sises commercials:rolleyes:

Around here DD, 7, has been asking for a Cabbage Patch doll-got it last night :D and a Dancing Carebear. Her friends are asking for the same things!

Last year my DD wanted "video now", I bought it knowing that a COLOR version would most likely be around the following year... so.... of course my DD and her friends all have the color version on their lists !!! LOL

I don't know what's going to be the "gotta have it" item this year, but on Friday, several people (including myself) were buying the Leapster @ Walmart. They had it for $69.00

DD4 (will be 5 in Dec.) is asking for
-a Leapster w/ Dora, Princess, Spongebob & drawing cartridges.
-So Soft My Little Pony
-Princess & the Pauper - anything!!!
-Princess or Barbie skates

DS7
-has only asked for the Star Wars Trilogy

How about for an 11 year old boy? My nephew, is special to me, like a surrogate son, I would love to get him something special for Christmas.

I also think it is the Cabbage patch dolls. Some are already flying off the shelf as soon as they come in our Target. :bounce:

Mine too. We got the b&w one last year and she really does use it when we are in the car and we are places that we have to wait, so I think that we have really gotten our monies worth out of the 1st one. We got our Limited 2 catalog yesterday and they are selling it again this year. I think I will use some of the limited bucks I have saved and get her some color disks, but wait until places have the color player on sale.

Around here the toy that the stores can't keep on the shelf is the Winx Club dolls. Several stores have already sold out & I was told that the manufacture is frantically trying to produce more to meet the unexpected demand.

My DS is also 11 and he saw this robot called Remote Control Robosapien he just loved it. I saw it at the Discovery store, it does coast $100.00 but you should see it, it can walk, dance, yawn, stretch, do kung fu, rap, fetch, throw – and it even talks in fluent "caveman speech. Don't know how much you want to spend on your nephew. Here's the link also to the Discovery store.

dcg0317,

Dh & I are thinking about getting this for DS7, they had it @ Costco for $69.99. I'm just afraid to buy it, DS has been dissappointed the past couple of years, things never work like they're suppose to.

When I was at ToysRus last week, there were two moms talking about how the Polly Pocket Par-tay Bus is going to be hot, it's really cute.

I know what you mean, seems alot of toys just don't work like you read I can name alot of them but don't want to have a long post. I did play with it at the Discovery store with my son and it seem to work fine, given how many kids have played with it, 2 weeks later they only had 1 left and it was still working fine, bought mine at JC Penneys catalog had $15 off special e-mail with free shipping so I bought it from them, I would say if you have Discovery store near you try it out, it seems well bulit.

Thanks for the tip, dcg0317. Price is no object when it comes to this boy. I'll check this out.

I was going to get my DS5 xbox but V-Tech came out with one called V-Smile and it more educational geared I am going to get him instead. I have no clue what to get DD7 she no longer likes dolls or babies. I need to start soon I have a bid family.

Well from what I can see there wont be a huge toy this year.. but it still is early

The one Ive been surprised so far with how many we've sold is the Love Cubs (in the Furreal Family)

As for the 12 toys of Christmas (for Walmart).. Itll be interesting to see.. The only two so far I think'll be harder to get are the Schwinn Stingray bike (200) and Cabbage Patch Dolls (30)

Last year there wasnt one huge thing that was that hard to get ..

>>When I was at ToysRus last week, there were two moms talking about how the Polly Pocket Par-tay Bus is going to be hot, it's really cute.<< Well we havent sold any yet and have actually had 3-4 returned from other stores... That doesnt hold much amazing hope for it...

But what happens at my Walmart isnt a good gauge for nationwide.. Our Bratz section is a poor seller here (esp the more expensive ones.. the 13 dollar ones do okay) but apparently does well nationwide... But we are in the top 5 for my state so itll be interesting :) -em
