Whoa! (I'm actually posting something!!!)

Hello Everyone! I am a long time reader of the DIS and just this year, I decided to actually register and maybe even try my hand at posting a Trip Report. I must say, I have thoroughly enjoyed the DIS, the information, stories, helpful hints, and endless amounts of enjoyment have made my time on these boards, very very very fun!

Introductions

I believe some introductions are in order, so let me begin. I am Tim, a complete and utterly hopeless Disney nut. I love the feeling of going to Disney, and have even been known to browse the Disney Store in the mall, just to get a fix. I get the usual question, why Disney? and the answer is simple. I can go to Disney anywhere and leave it all behind. I actually forget about work, I lose the stress and I am genuinely happy! Any place that can do that for me, gets my vote for most amazing place ever!

My wife is Kathy. She is my perfect match, a beautiful, intelligent and fun loving woman whom I am blessed to be with! She loves Disney as well (although maybe not with my complete fanaticism). She still tears up when they perform the opening ceremony for the Magic Kingdom and I love her all the more for that!

Our daughter is Alicia. She is a baby adult college student who lives at home when not away at school. She is as fanatical as either of us, but pretends she isnt. She and I have been known to fire up Youtube on our AppleTv and watch Disney videos for the entire evening!

For our upcoming trip, we are being joined by Kathy's brother Chris, and his daughters Ashley and Amanda. The girls have not been to Disneyworld in a few years and we are sooooo looking forward to hanging out with them.

Day 1 Details

July 5th, drop off our babies (Pixie, Penny, Minnie and Grayby Baby), at the kennel for boarding (I absolutely hate boarding my animals, but with a new puppy and the medicines which the older animals need, its necessary). Be at Chris's house by around 8:30 and hopefully pulling onto the interstate by 9:00 AM. (Who am I kidding, There is NO Way they'll be ready).

Arrive at Downtown Disney by 5:00 and proceed to purchase Premier Annual Passes for Kathy and I. Once we have these firmly in hand, we are hoping to have time to check in at All Star Sports, dropping off our luggage and freshening up before our 7:30 Reservations at Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Once we finish dinner, we will play it by ear. We'll explore a bit if everyone has some energy, but we'll need to get into bed early enough to get ready to go to...

Animal Kingdom

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, today (July 6 2012) we will be off to Animal Kingdom to explore remote regions. While there, we hope to stalk the elusive Yeti and take a trip back in time to the land of the giants. We shall tour the world in search of exotic wildlife and even plan to learn to see the world through a smaller set of eyes.
We are tentatively planning on a delicious lunch at Flame Tree Barbeque. If we get our fill of this lovely park, we plan to hop over to...

Hollywood Studios!

We are hoping that we can jump over to Hollywood Studios and be able to catch a few rides, anticipating a very busy day for the parks, I am keeping expectations low and plan to get great photos and video of the park for my TR and VTR.

The morning of the 7th we are scheduled to head to Epcot. I seriously love this park, it is easily one of my favorites. I plan on "drinking my way around the world", well, at least to try a drink in each country, something I have never tried. The only problem with this day is the refurbishment of Test Track, Oh Well, I am going to need to plan a trip to come back and see it once it is complete!
For Dinner on the 7th we are going to eat at Teppan Edo. We love hibachi style cooking and are really looking forward to this. We have never tried it here and it should be alot of fun.

On the 8th, it is imperative that we get up early and be at Magic Kingdom for the opening! I love this, there is something so special about the entire ceremony, it puts me in a magical frame of mind for the rest of the day. We plan on staying until it gets too hot or crowded, then heading back to the hotel for a swim and to get ready for dinner at Kona Cafe. We ate here on our January trip and LOVED it, so going back will be a blast! Once we finish our dinner, we are going back to the park to enjoy the extra magic hours.

On the 9th we are heading off property to Islands of Adventure. I know its not Disney, but it is very fun and we are all looking forward to it. My daughter would not stand for us coming to Orlando without her getting a chance to visit Hogwarts.

On the 10th, we are having breakfast at Kona Cafe, then Chris will be leaving with the kids, headed to the beach for a few days. Kathy and I are going to hang out and hit a park or two, before departing on the 11th to visit friends in Tampa.

There it is, ladies and gents, I know how boring it must be without photo's, but as I get time and get acclimated to posting on here, I promise to make them more enjoyable!

Thanks for reading!!

Tim

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I will hopefully be starting my actual trip report soon, even with Photos! In the meantime, I am creating a Video Trip Report of the entire trip as well.

I have created a Photobucket account and am currently uploading photos, to use in my Trip Report, so keep your eyes open for it to start soon!

Thanks,

Tim
