I started with the night sweats at about age 34. I'm 39 now and they're getting WORSE. I've tried soy and all the herbs in the world and nothing has really helped. I don't want to get into hormone drugs yet, so I just change my pajamas alot.

If someone knows something that works - I'm listening too!;)

There was a book I heard about that was supposed to help. I have no idea the name though. This topic was on here not that long ago. Maybe someone will know what I'm talking about.

Actually I'm 40 now and have only had 2 hot flashes during the last years. I know I'm not far from needing this advice so I will be lurking on this thread. :)

Night sweats are the worst, and gross! Good thing I am single. I wouldn't want to wake up next to me like that.:scared:

I also was 32 and having night sweats. I decided I didn't want to take hormone replacement so I looked into the natural. I still have some night sweats, but they are not unbearable and I don't have to change my pajamas at night from being totally wet (I'm now 45). I also notice that the night sweats are worse near my period.

This is what I do: I take New Phase (I use this because it is standardized) and use two tablespoons of soy lecithin granules each night before bed. You could also break up the soy lecithin granules to 1 tbls. in the morning and 1 tbls. at night. The New Phase and soy lecithin do help me with reducing night sweats and hot flashes. It does take about 30-45 days to see an improvement though because it is natural. I am not a doctor or nurse, so this might not work for everyone, but it has for me.

I also take a good multi-vitamin and use high lignan flaxseed oil (not in pill form) with my regimen because of high cholesterol that has started after I began going through peri-menopause.

I cut way back on my caffeine intake. I switched over to caffeine free coke. This seems to help quite a bit. Still get them sometimes, but not as frequently as I use too. DH is so glad. Poor man was beginning to feel like he lived in a meat locker.

Night sweats don't necessarily mean menopause. I was also in my 30's whenI had horrible night sweats. Soak the sheets type! They tapered off in my 40's. I will be 53 in June and my GYN told me last August that he doesn't see any physical signs that I am near menopause. The night sweats are very sporadic now. Go figure!
