Hi, remember me? Sorry about being away for so long but a little thing called life kept me busy. I recently graduated and changed student teaching placements and have been yanked all over the school to sub for sick teachers. Loving in 4 weeks I will be officially done and available for hire!
Since Nebo is prolonging his actual report and allowing us to keep his report alive I thought Id give you something to keep your minds off of the terrible events that occurred yesterday. Please, pray. It doesnt take much than to think to God and ask for Him to help our troubled world and for Him to wrap His arms around all of the families who lost a loved one for love and support. I personally thank you all for doing this.
This will be my last chapter since this is the last day of our trip in WDW. The drive home was uneventful and Id like to finish with celebrating Maddys 5th birthday. It was the best day of our trip, in my opinion, because we were in our favorite park and there is nothing better than watching a five year old swirl in the magic of her special day.
Ok, the day before was her actual birthday, but she doesnt know and in her mind it was her birthday.
I have to point out that I am relying on my pictures in photobucket to help me remember the course of the day. If Nebo does it, it cant hurt right?
We get to MK and split up. Maddy wants to meet a princess. She kept telling me that after every park she didnt get me meet a princess. I promised her that she would on her birthday and I wasnt about to disappoint her. The boys headed to Splash Mt. and the Pirates area. I remember Zack texting me that there was a sky writer in the sky writing a proposal to someone in the park. It said, Marry Me, Lisa. He refused to get in line until the proposal was finished. When they got off the ride another message was written that said, Dont worry, your dad paid for the trip.
I guess hiring a sky writer to write all of that is costly.
My mom and I along with the birthday girls went to City Hall and got my baby a birthday button. I found it less meaningful that now there is a man standing in front of a cart loaded to the hilt with celebration buttons. He asked me if I wanted one and I declined, it is Maddys day after all and I might get one for myself in February that says I graduated.
Here is the birthday girl beaming as we are standing in line to meet the princesses. We got there just after opening and the crowds were not bad, yet.
Maddy meeting Cinderelly
Belle
And the chick from Tangled, sorry havent purchased this movie yet.
Whats a TR without one of these? My girls love the castle and I cant blame them, when Mal was little she called it her castle and Maddy can stare at it all day. I have to admit, I love it too.
We hit a few rides and Maddy seems to like what her momma likes so we rode Buzz Lightyear. I found my target this time but came up a little short.
I have to document this and I text it to my sons. We are extremely competitive and so far mom is in the lead.
We pretty much hung out in fantasy land and the plan was to ride all morning and take a late lunch break. We all got together at Caseys and got Coney dogs. Mal and Tim still wanted to ride Big Thunder and the boys had to challenge me one last time on Buzz. If my memory is correct Matt did jump ahead with something like 572,000. Thats ok, because I still hold the all time record.
We were getting to the point of taking a break back at the house and to come back for Wishes.
While we were making our way to the front of the park we came across Push again.
We saw him terrorizing people at the beginning of our trip and I knew what the guy looked like controlling it. Once again he had on his Tiger hat and I pointed him out to the kids.
Matt was torn on wanting to use his fast pass for Space Mountain and also being hot and ready to go home.
Push was begging this cute girl to ride Space Mountain with him. Matt walked up to push and put his Fastpass on top of him. The girl was clueless and didnt take the fast pass. Another person walked by and picked it up, Push started to chase after them. We had a laugh and were happy to give him new material to work with.
Mal and Tim were stuck in a line so we took our time walking to the front of the park; we took refuge in the confectionary shop and enjoyed their air conditioning. A nice CM there took a liking to Madelyn and noticed it was her birthday. She went back behind the counter and came back with this.
Then she gave us a whole bag of Mickey Mouse rice crispy treats. I was pretty floored at her generosity. I thanked her a bazillion times and Tim and Mal were just now starting to walk to the front of the park. I was done so we went to the monorail and then to the car and waited for them. I wanted air conditioning, and to sit, badly.
At some point in the trip we caught up with a talented CM making these. He painted the sidewalk with water and created my favorite character Goofy. As soon as he finished it would disappear in the Florida heat. I never came across someone like him before and thought it was unique, but maybe you have seen his wonderful artwork on one of your trips.
After a nice relaxing spell at the house we came back to MK. My only goal was to secure a spot on Main Street to watch the parade and fireworks. Normally we are running all over the park and catching it on the fly for a minute of two. This time I wanted to savor it and take it all in. So about 7:30 pm I was sitting on a curb and taking up as much space as two people could. My mom was looking for ice-cream, the boys were on rides and Tim and Mal had to ride something again as well. Maddy and I people watched. There was a couple sitting next to us with their little boy. He was not happy. The dad kept trying to get him things to settle him down and he was not having it. At some point I offered a Mickey Mouse rice crispy treat and the little boy ate it and was happy. There was a language barrier and they kept looking at me smiling. I was just happy to quiet him down. I think the mom was at her wits end. You dont need to speak the same language to know that look. As I think about it, everyone around us looked at me and smiled.
The parade was great but now it was time to grab my babies close and watch wishes. I got some great shots of the fireworks with my phone.
Heres the last 2 minutes of Wishes for your viewing pleasure.
We had a great trip; I loved renting a house that offered so much for my family. I learned you can take a family trip to WDW and not stay on property and still have a great time. We didnt feel we lost any of the magic. I liked our own pool and the privacy of the home. I am grateful for owners that offer a security system because it saved our vacation. I was so happy to meet Nebo and Smidgy. I never thought that would ever happen. I feel so blessed that our paths crossed. I am sorry for the injuries he had to endure just to meet me.
Thank you all for giving me a chance to share our vacation follies with you and humoring me along the way.
The drive home was ordinary; I loved the new route and all the new scenery. I cant wait until we can do it again!
