I thought the same thing in my reply that was lost! I hate spending all that time and then it goes poof and so does my patience!

I wish the DIS had a like button. I don't always have anything to say but do want to acknowledge the post. Is there a thumbs up icon?

I know completely how you feel.

Last night we celebrated early my sons 16th birthday and went out to dinner. On the way home we listened to some comedy bits and I almost had to pull over from laughing so hard. John Pinette,
google "free willy" and his name OMG!

I love John Pinette. You really need to YouTube some of his other stuff. The Vegas buffet one is golden.

Hi, remember me? Sorry about being away for so long but a little thing called life kept me busy. I recently graduated and changed student teaching placements and have been yanked all over the school to sub for sick teachers. Loving in 4 weeks I will be officially done and available for hire!

Since Nebo is prolonging his actual report and allowing us to keep his report alive I thought I’d give you something to keep your minds off of the terrible events that occurred yesterday. Please, pray. It doesn’t take much than to think to God and ask for Him to help our troubled world and for Him to wrap His arms around all of the families who lost a loved one for love and support. I personally thank you all for doing this.

This will be my last chapter since this is the last day of our trip in WDW. The drive home was uneventful and I’d like to finish with celebrating Maddy’s 5th birthday. It was the best day of our trip, in my opinion, because we were in our favorite park and there is nothing better than watching a five year old swirl in the magic of her special day.

Ok, the day before was her actual birthday, but she doesn’t know and in her mind it was her birthday.

I have to point out that I am relying on my pictures in photobucket to help me remember the course of the day. If Nebo does it, it can’t hurt right?

We get to MK and split up. Maddy wants to meet a princess. She kept telling me that after every park she didn’t get me meet a princess. I promised her that she would on her birthday and I wasn’t about to disappoint her. The boys headed to Splash Mt. and the Pirates area. I remember Zack texting me that there was a sky writer in the sky writing a proposal to someone in the park. It said, “Marry Me, Lisa.” He refused to get in line until the proposal was finished. When they got off the ride another message was written that said, “Don’t worry, your dad paid for the trip.”
I guess hiring a sky writer to write all of that is costly.
My mom and I along with the birthday girls went to City Hall and got my baby a birthday button. I found it less meaningful that now there is a man standing in front of a cart loaded to the hilt with celebration buttons. He asked me if I wanted one and I declined, it is Maddy’s day after all and I might get one for myself in February that says I graduated.

Here is the birthday girl beaming as we are standing in line to meet the princesses. We got there just after opening and the crowds were not bad, yet.

What’s a TR without one of these? My girls love the castle and I can’t blame them, when Mal was little she called it her castle and Maddy can stare at it all day. I have to admit, I love it too.

We hit a few rides and Maddy seems to like what her momma likes so we rode Buzz Lightyear. I found my target this time but came up a little short.
IMG_1868.jpg

I have to document this and I text it to my sons. We are extremely competitive and so far mom is in the lead.

We pretty much hung out in fantasy land and the plan was to ride all morning and take a late lunch break. We all got together at Casey’s and got Coney dogs. Mal and Tim still wanted to ride Big Thunder and the boys had to challenge me one last time on Buzz. If my memory is correct Matt did jump ahead with something like 572,000. That’s ok, because I still hold the all time record.

We were getting to the point of taking a break back at the house and to come back for Wishes.

While we were making our way to the front of the park we came across Push again.
IMG_1871.jpg

We saw him terrorizing people at the beginning of our trip and I knew what the guy looked like controlling it. Once again he had on his Tiger hat and I pointed him out to the kids.
IMG_1870.jpg

Matt was torn on wanting to use his fast pass for Space Mountain and also being hot and ready to go home.

Push was begging this cute girl to ride Space Mountain with him. Matt walked up to push and put his Fastpass on top of him. The girl was clueless and didn’t take the fast pass. Another person walked by and picked it up, Push started to chase after them. We had a laugh and were happy to give him new material to work with.

Mal and Tim were stuck in a line so we took our time walking to the front of the park; we took refuge in the confectionary shop and enjoyed their air conditioning. A nice CM there took a liking to Madelyn and noticed it was her birthday. She went back behind the counter and came back with this.

IMG_1875.jpg

Then she gave us a whole bag of Mickey Mouse rice crispy treats. I was pretty floored at her generosity. I thanked her a bazillion times and Tim and Mal were just now starting to walk to the front of the park. I was done so we went to the monorail and then to the car and waited for them. I wanted air conditioning, and to sit, badly.

At some point in the trip we caught up with a talented CM making these. He painted the sidewalk with water and created my favorite character Goofy. As soon as he finished it would disappear in the Florida heat. I never came across someone like him before and thought it was unique, but maybe you have seen his wonderful artwork on one of your trips.

After a nice relaxing spell at the house we came back to MK. My only goal was to secure a spot on Main Street to watch the parade and fireworks. Normally we are running all over the park and catching it on the fly for a minute of two. This time I wanted to savor it and take it all in. So about 7:30 pm I was sitting on a curb and taking up as much space as two people could. My mom was looking for ice-cream, the boys were on rides and Tim and Mal had to ride something again as well. Maddy and I people watched. There was a couple sitting next to us with their little boy. He was not happy. The dad kept trying to get him things to settle him down and he was not having it. At some point I offered a Mickey Mouse rice crispy treat and the little boy ate it and was happy. There was a language barrier and they kept looking at me smiling. I was just happy to quiet him down. I think the mom was at her wits end. You don’t need to speak the same language to know that look. As I think about it, everyone around us looked at me and smiled.

The parade was great but now it was time to grab my babies close and watch wishes. I got some great shots of the fireworks with my phone.

Here’s the last 2 minutes of Wishes for your viewing pleasure.

We had a great trip; I loved renting a house that offered so much for my family. I learned you can take a family trip to WDW and not stay on property and still have a great time. We didn’t feel we lost any of the magic. I liked our own pool and the privacy of the home. I am grateful for owners that offer a security system because it saved our vacation. I was so happy to meet Nebo and Smidgy. I never thought that would ever happen. I feel so blessed that our paths crossed. I am sorry for the injuries he had to endure just to meet me.

Thank you all for giving me a chance to share our vacation follies with you and humoring me along the way.

The drive home was ordinary; I loved the new route and all the new scenery. I can’t wait until we can do it again!

Mony, great update, so glad you had a good vacation.

As a little Christmas present, how would you like to be soon able to book fastpasses online, including for meet and greets and fireworks show viewing areas way ahead of time?

See you around the Dis!

Sounds interesting but does it make me a slave to the clock?

No, I was skeptical at first too, but you can change ressies day of even, very flexible, subject to availability of course. You can do via your phone in the parks even. You can only reserve 3-4 FP's per day, so just pick your top priorities and then go with the flow.

Wont be availble offsite though, come to think of that.

marita, sorry, not so thrilled about these "opportunites" . we feel it puts those without "smart phones", etc. at a disadvantage. not fair to all those repeat customers who don't choose to or need "smart phones".

mony, we were THRILLED to meet YOU guys!!!. loved your pictures and happy your trip ended on a great note..ie, WISHES!!!! your family is wonderful, you have kids you can be proud of.

the only thing I want to say about the tradgedy is : God bless teachers.

and isn't if fitting that nebo and I (ok, I) would screw up our last post on your trip report. that was me, posting under nebo's name.. sigh.
anyhoo, thanks for sharing your trip with all of us,and it is good to know that you can still have fun without staying "onsite" .. after all, hopefully, we will be living near there someday, off site. and that would be a whole new ball game!!!

Make sure Diane that you get a place with a wing big enough to accomodate my clan!

Your accidental post was the finishing touch on the TR, it wouldn't be the same without it.

Hi, remember me?

Hmmm.... The face looks familiar, but the hat is different.

Sorry about being away for so long but a little thing called life kept me busy.

For some reason that makes me think of the intro to Prince's 'Let's Go Crazy'.

I recently graduated and changed student teaching placements and have been yanked all over the school to sub for sick teachers. Loving in 4 weeks I will be officially done and available for hire!

What are the chances that you'd get hired in the middle of the school year? Or would you be hired for the next year?

I thought I’d give you something to keep your minds off of the terrible events that occurred yesterday.

What is the World coming to? Unfathomable. :sad2:

It was the best day of our trip, in my opinion, because we were in our favorite park and there is nothing better than watching a five year old swirl in the magic of her special day.

That is a lot of fun isn't it? One of my fave memories when I took the DDs when they were 4 and 8 is a video I shot of them dancing together while waiting for the bus to go to a park. They were so happy! :)

Ok, the day before was her actual birthday, but she doesn’t know and in her mind it was her birthday.

Of course if she ever reads this you're in sooooo much trouble! :rotfl:

If Nebo does it, it can’t hurt right?

Ladies and gentlemen.... the definition of oxymoron.

When they got off the ride another message was written that said, “Don’t worry, your dad paid for the trip.”

And won't dad be pleasantly surprised with the bill!

I have to document this and I text it to my sons. We are extremely competitive and so far mom is in the lead.

Noticed that about you. Note to self, don't ever ride Buzz with Monica unless I have a desire to get my butt kicked but good.

:rotfl: Great way to have fun and spread pixie dust at the same time.

Then she gave us a whole bag of Mickey Mouse rice crispy treats. I was pretty floored at her generosity.

Wow! Sweet deal.

No pun intended.... much.

He painted the sidewalk with water and created my favorite character Goofy. As soon as he finished it would disappear in the Florida heat. I never came across someone like him before and thought it was unique, but maybe you have seen his wonderful artwork on one of your trips.

First time I've heard of it. Talk about temporary! How did he do it? With a brush? or a squirt gun?

At some point I offered a Mickey Mouse rice crispy treat and the little boy ate it and was happy.

That would work for me too.

:lmao: I can see it now. Some day I'll meet up with Nebo and Smidgy. Nebo and I'll start talking a mile a minute... eventually Smidgy will hand us each a Mickey Mouse rice crispy treat and just smile.

Here’s the last 2 minutes of Wishes for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for that. Wishes is one of the best things Disney offers, no?

I am sorry for the injuries he had to endure just to meet me.

Oh, I'm sure you were worth it. I didn't mind.

Thank you all for giving me a chance to share our vacation follies with you and humoring me along the way.

Thank you for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing the Wishes video! I really needed that today. Reminded me about happy times spent with the important people in my life. Love Wishes!

marita, sorry, not so thrilled about these "opportunites" . we feel it puts those without "smart phones", etc. at a disadvantage. not fair to all those repeat customers who don't choose to or need "smart phones".

Smidgy, no worries, they will have stations and CMs with tablets available for those without smart phones, and you can book your FP's online on a regular PC ahead of time

Mony, great update, so glad you had a good vacation.

As a little Christmas present, how would you like to be soon able to book fastpasses online, including for meet and greets and fireworks show viewing areas way ahead of time?

See you around the Dis!

Throw in a park ticket, sold! I'll try it, when will that be available? I might be there for a few days in February.

Hmmm.... The face looks familiar, but the hat is different.

I rocked that hat!

For some reason that makes me think of the intro to Prince's 'Let's Go Crazy'.

You've been paying attention.
::yes::
What are the chances that you'd get hired in the middle of the school year? Or would you be hired for the next year?

I have already been asked to long term sub with another district. Couldn't because of student teaching. Teachers have to leave the schoool year early often, usually due to maternity issues. So the chances I can find something long term are good. Then hopefully I have my foot in the door to pick up something permanent.
That is a lot of fun isn't it? One of my fave memories when I took the DDs when they were 4 and 8 is a video I shot of them dancing together while waiting for the bus to go to a park. They were so happy! :)

Post it!

Ladies and gentlemen.... the definition of oxymoron.

And you were just apologizing earlier to him......

Noticed that about you. Note to self, don't ever ride Buzz with Monica unless I have a desire to get my butt kicked but good.

My poor kids who ride with me, I grab the controller and they are at my mercy.

First time I've heard of it. Talk about temporary! How did he do it? With a brush? or a squirt gun?

He had a fat paint brush, kind of stubby, tied to the end of a long stick. It looked comical but the end result was amazing as you can tell.It just rained and he was using the puddles to paint with.

:lmao: I can see it now. Some day I'll meet up with Nebo and Smidgy. Nebo and I'll start talking a mile a minute... eventually Smidgy will hand us each a Mickey Mouse rice crispy treat and just smile.

Promise I will be there too, I'd hate to miss that.

Thanks for that. Wishes is one of the best things Disney offers, no? Yes

Oh, I'm sure you were worth it. I didn't mind.

::yes::

Thank you for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

My pleasure.

Throw in a park ticket, sold! I'll try it, when will that be available? I might be there for a few days in February.

It's starting to slowly roll out now. Not sure how much will be available by February though. I think the main roll-out is planned for Feb-March

I could probably wrangle up a couple or four one day hoppers, but not enough for a vacation LOL. They give us expiring ones now, so I cant save them up.

Tim is headed down for meetings in February for a few days and I'm trying to tag along. There will be two days I will have to try and find something to do.

Whats a girl to do all alone in Disney????????

A one day? Really?

:hyper:
