Hot Choc and Popcorn for 460 folks cheap!

I need ideas. Pre-popped popcorn and 6-8 oz servings of Hot Chocolate needed for about 400 kids and 60 adults. Does a place like Sam's offer up HUGE bags of popcorn? Where to get huge containers of the Hot Choc mix?

I know Costco used to have individual bags of popcorn and they do sell a giant
sized hot chocolate mix or the Swiss miss packets.

You can always use Hershey's cocoa to make the Hot Chocolate.

You can get day old pop corn at some theaters, like Carmike or Regal.

They do this for schools, churches etc. With a gathering as large as yours it sounds like it might qualify.

If it is for a charitable organization (school, scouts, etc), you can often get places to donate those big urns of coffee or hot chocolate. try Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, or local places. Good luck!

Sam's Club does have huge bags of popping corn...looks like a dog food bag...maybe 25 lbs?? I've never paid attention to the price. They also have jugs of the buttered flavored oil that the big machines take. I was there today and noticed that they had large containers of swiss miss but again I didn't note the price.

We get a HUGE can of swiss miss hot cocoa at Sam's club for around $7-8...we drink it alot and it still lasts us most of the winter.

Try calling a movie theater to see if they would sell you a "garbage" bag size popcorn...maybe they would be reasonable.

I have seen Brueggers Bagles and Caribou donate to our local sport events..try them!

I work for Starbucks and we can donate coffee as long as it is non profit. hot chocolate is a little harder but I have done it and given notice. Good luck!

The Sams Club website shows the 80 oz container of Swiss Miss for $6.44 in club. I'd also check prices at Walmart.

This won't help you too much since you need a lot of hot chocolate. But you can get the 10 count package of single serve packets of Swiss Miss for free at Target this week. There is a printable coupon on their website. You can print two coupons per computer. The coupon says one per transaction.
