Host Gifts a Room to a girl who is being rude and fighting with another player.

I agree with so many of the posts.

It's terrible for obnoxious players to be rewarded (although we know this has happened with Best Guest and Best Games rooms). I wonder if there is a way for Hosts to review the activity in a room before giving prizes out.

The greed is apparent with those comments about the value of the ears going down. Come on! The event has just started, do they think once they got their ears, the nontradeable ears should be retired?

Staff stopping in rooms and not gifting the players in it must be a complete disappointment for those who waited all day in hopes to see someone.

If staff reads inappropriate things being said in any room, REMOVE THE OFFENDER! I got a warning in my messages while in a guest room during one of the events because another player broke the rules by saying she was in Middle School. I was not part of their conversation and I am not in control of what others say. It was not a room warning, but a warning sent directly to me saying not to say or ask for personal info or I will get banned. That message ruined my night. I was visiting various guest rooms yesterday during this Dreams event because we were asked not to hang out in public rooms. I did what we were asked and I got burned. Grrr!

I hope all the prizes are buyable next month after this is over. It's been fun to meet fellow DISers, but the stress of the hopes of getting one room and one set of ears has not been.

Here is another situation I witnessed last night. Not a Host, but a staff member comes into my friends trivia game room. Everyone is very excited they think they have won something.

Just to clarify something. Only Host are giving out dreams. Other VMK staff are not giving things out, so unfortunately the people in the room should have not gotten excited thinking they won dream items. I received many pop ups over the last couple days explaining this.

I love the virtual items too. I am so grateful for the nice gifts that Mal, aengus, Amber and others have given to me, my daughter and my younger sister. BUT, not for A SINGLE MOMENT, do I ever value anything I have as something so valuable that I would I ever wish that anybody else was unable to get it for fear of my item being worth any less.

I do not understand all of the selfish comments about this game and wishing that others could not have certain items like the Princess Minnie Hat, Inferno or anything else....is it because you (generally speaking) feel you will no longer be special? I have items that I have only one of and have given it to somebody else because they wanted it that bad.

Sorry to steal your thread Mal. Back to the regularly scheduled program.

CAJUNWDWFAN that is my point actually, the kids in the room dont know that just Host give things out, but I did. That's what was so sad to watch for me, most these kids are only interested in what they might be able to get, and dont read the pop up.

rude to others was singled out to receive the random dream. I am surprised
that moderation hadn't overridden the dream.

And it makes me sad to think those who won dreams items are actually

Wow. Obviously it is telling rude players it pays to act that way and its alright by them. To me this month is Disney's way to try to promote their failed idea for the theme parks. Sadly they aren't thinking about the thousands of kids that play the game and don't understand how it all works in game (and at the parks). So this month is just going to cause to much hate, anger, whining, etc, etc I am going to just get my daily credits and disappear cause I don't want to see more then I have had to over the last few months or so. Obviously the moderation for this game is not getting fixed as it should be either. I have to add about the mods how its funny that someone that wins best quest is so rude and horrible to players and a staff member comes to say to stop complaining about the player being mean but yet someone else and they get told by staff how to run their room??? I don't get it.

Having been in a room when a Grand Prize Suite was won, I have the following understanding:

The hosts do not select the person who wins. This eliminates any "host favorites" comments, issues, etc....

They are looking for something specific that is worn, done or said or whatnot from a player in that room after they arrive. That player wins. Exact words from the Host who explained it to the room, "It is based on specific rules, just like in the parks."

Would it have been amazingly cool for all of us to win the suite, of course, but I guess with that particular prize, it's one person in the room only.

Hope hope hope.....

There you go. Then she should have checked the chat of that player before issuing the prize room.

I never said that everyone in the room should win the room. But I do feel that everyone in the room should win a prize.

This is not a game that should teach the rules of life to anyone, not a new feeling for me. After all name me one person who goes to the parks to learn the rules of life. They go to the Park to escape life to have a magical experience and enjoy feeling like a kid again.

As to why we all play VMK. Release the magic!

Bash me how? I never said host ignored anything did not say she even saw the comments. But as in Dreams post I think a host needs to observe the room and the goings on before issuing a prize such as this.

I am only reporting what was observed in the game.

Singled out? then she did not do her research very well because from what I was told this girl's attacks on the other player were bannable offenses.

Was she reported? I will find out and get back on that.

After he stood there for several moments, he finally said hello and addressed the room owner. While in the meantime everyone is room was going off with excitement that they had won dreams items. He chewed the room owner a new one for not removing rude plyers from her room and told her it was her responsibility. She thanked him, keep in mind the entire time people are wild about winning dreams items finally, the room was lagged out with typed messages. Then poof, he was gone he never said sorry I dont give out dreams items, never said bye, never ever said kiss my ... As you can only imagine, the people were very let down, and the game room was ruined, because only thing people wanted to do now was cry about why they did not win dreams items.

This event is now not anything I am interested in. It took two days for me to just say this. I think it is great if you win an item, I am sorry if you don't. Truth is I could care less either way, the Dreams Squad promotion is now over to me, I will be carrying on as usual in VMK and ignoring it all.

Is That The Change In Moderation Yavn Said? Staff Telling Us To Do There Job? If Staff Is So Worried About Rude People In Other Peoples Rooms Why Come In The Room Personaly And Tell The Owner To Boot Rude Players. Couldn't They Just Warn/Ban Them?

A friend on my list was at tiki tiki island yesterday. Three girls were being mean to HER. Staff came in and awarded my friend a castle suite. Afterward many other people in the room started attacking her. Anyway that is her story confirmed to me this morning. That she was the one being attacked and she received the dream prize. I do not know who your friend was. Or if this was the same incident. I do know that my friend was there and saw it all and he said that the girl who recieved the room was the one doing the attacking not the other way around.

I just want to say that this whole Dreams controversy is making me really sad. VMK thought is would be fun for us to play the free game that we love, with the added hope of maybe getting another free added surprise here and there. It's all about giving!!

I don't understand where everyone's sense of entitlement has come from. One post mentioned that this game is not where the rules of life are to be taught..it is a game. Well, in all games there are people who come out ahead of others. In this game, none of it is real except for the attitude and emotions brought by the players. We create the "atmosphere". Only we can decide if we are happy for people winning or ticked off that our own greed hasn't been satisfied today, and are going to blame it on other people. Only we can choose how we feel and react.

Yes, given the chance, there are things I would change about VMK but it's just entertainment. And, like pinkgirlygirl said...I have bigger dreams!

I play VMK and visit the DIS as an escape from the real world. To go to a happy place! I'm going to play the game as I always do. If I get a surprise...Yay!! If not, oh well! The course of my life has not been altered and I will happy for those of you who do win new free pixels!

Like I said...this is not meant to be a rant, at all. I really just want us all to take responsibility for our own emotions and perspective and go back to enjoying the game and making it a fun place to escape the cares of life!

You have misconstrued my thread completely. I do not now nor have I ever felt entitled to anything that VMK releases.

My feelings are quiet the opposite and I thought most who have posted here for any length of time knew that.


the reason for that whole thread was to wake up VMK and hopefully get this Month event under control and spread the true meaning of magic.

I'm really sorry. I actually didn't remember who had said what, when I wrote it. I wasn't meaning to single you out, at all. When I said the part about entitlement, I definitely wasn't referring to you. I was referring to the general feeling on the board today. One of the reasons I made it a separate thread was so it wouldn't be about anyone in particular. I guess I missed the mark. I am really sorry if I didn't make some of this as clear as I had hoped. I really do think we are on the same page.

I actually totally agree with your thread, and that the Hosts should observe behavior before handing things out! Hey, there's an idea!! They should start giving things out based on polite, safe behavior, instead of whatever arbitrary rules they are following!!! LOL!
