Hello! I am planning on applying for Fall Advantage 2014 (ahhhh!!)

Right now my top job would be hospitality. I am wondering what that's really like? what do you do? also, what would my chances be of getting poly, grand, or another DVC resort? also, can you do the CP more than once? What can you apply for once you're out of college? :cool1: I'm SO EXCITED!! February (application period) can't come soon enough!! :cheer2:

I mean I'm statused concierge but never worked it so I'll give it a shot.

Hospitality is just resort front desk. Checking people in or working a runner shift.

Your odds of getting any resort are one in twenty fiveish? The all stars have a ton of need so they get a lot.

You can apply for anything outside of college? Are you looking for some specific answers? Because there are a million and one career routes at Disney and everyone's story is different.

I guess I'm more asking for personal experience. if you were DCP, did you take classes while down there? and thanks for your help.

What do you mean "statused concierge but never work it"? I just got accepted for the DCP spring '14 for concierge.

I'm an alumni & you can def apply after college, well.. you can apply for the DCP while still enrolled in school so if its your last semester you can apply and go after graduation. And there are also a lot of opportunities such as full and part time jobs and professional internships even though they seem to be very hard to get. If you have any questions let me know.

My permanent role is as a yacht and beach club concierge but I've been on a TA since my second week and so I haven't actually worked a day in my location.

My top selections were hospitality related for Disneyland CP - front desk clerk and guest services. I was accepted for the role of Vacation Planner by Disney recruiting but I haven't accepted their offer. Does anyone know if you can ask if you can be placed in another role before accepting their offer? I really wanted to work in one of the Disney hotels as it is more closely related to my college degree. I think the main reason I was accepted as Vacation Planner was because of my sales work history.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

You won't be offered a different position. Sorry :(

This might be a silly question, but what does it mean to be statused? I have seen it several times.

Being statuses means that is your full time job.

Example: "I am statused over at All-star, but picked up a shift at Coronado."

For those who are on management internships. Getting statused means that you are now a full time manager. Many Management Interns get a TA (Temporary Assignment) after their internship. After months in a TA, they become "statused."

If they're lucky. Sometimes you hop from ta to ta before you get statused. Some roles never have anyone statused.

That's what I'm doing at the moment.

Best of luck to you!

I spent all of 2012 on five separate TA's bouncing between All-Star and DAKL.
