Hospitality House View at OKW

Today I booked a reservation at OKW for our upcoming summer trip. All they had available was "hospitality house area." We have never asked for this area because we prefer to be out of the way and figure we did not want to take rooms that would be more convenient for people with children and limited mobility.

Does anyone know what kind of views these rooms have (Buildings 11-14 and 23 & 26). I am more concerned about 11 - 14 as we really enjoy a quiet, sunny golf course view. If I recall, that area seems somewhat wooded and shaded. Does anyone know if that is correct? I still have a few months to try to change, if needed.

Thanks!

Buildings 11-14 are golf course/woods views and are generally pretty nice and quiet. Buildings 23-26 have some excellent golf course views, and also some nice sunsets!

I think it depends on the building and which floor you are on. We were in bldg. 11 room 1111 on first floor in a one bedroom unit. There was no view with lots of brush growing right up to the balcony. DH and I spend a fair amount of time relaxing in our unit, so it was disappointing not to have any view. The next trip we were again given this same room. A year later we were once again assigned to this room for the third time in a row. That time we nicely asked if we could be given another unit and they accommodated us.

We have had first floor units in bldgs 25 and 26 that had nice golfcourse views.

If you get bldg 14, make sure you aren't facing the street by the main entrance.

The noise didn't bother us inside the villa, but it lessened our enjoyment of the balcony.

On a positive note, I was able to see the reflections of IllumiNations off the clouds. :)

WE JUST CAME BACK IN MAR AND HAD BUILDING 24. IT OVERLOOKED A BIG POND BY THE 6th HOLE. THE FOUNTAIN YOU SEE WHEN YOU CROSS THE BRIDGE FROM HH WAS JUST OUT OF SIGHT BUT YOU COULD HEAR IT. WE HAD BOTTOM FLOOR. WE FEED THE BIRDS. WE HAD NO TREES IN OUR WAY. WE WERE CLOSE ENOUGH TO CHOOSE BETWEEN OUT PENNISULAR STOP AND HH STOP FOR BUS. ONLY MINUTES FROM WALKING TO HH. WE LIKED IT.

We've had Building 24 and 26 - great views, especially if you get 2nd or 3rd floor - you don't even hear or hardly ever see anyone else around, so don't worry about noisy kids running around. We only ever saw anyone when they were leaving their rooms the same time as us. We love OKW for the quiet factor and especially for the gorgeous water/golf views. Our deck on our 1 or 2 bedroom villa there is like another room for us, as we spend a lot of afternoons and evenings enjoying sitting out there. We're going for Christmas this year with 15 of us, and each family is getting a two bedroom to enjoy - can't wait to spend Christmas morning sipping my tea on the deck while watching palm trees swaying in a warm breeze instead of huddling inside watching it snow!!:cool1:

Thanks for the responses everyone. Interestingly enough, I called back to see if any non-hospitality house rooms had opened up and was told there are tons of them available. I have no idea why the person from my original call said there were only hospitality category rooms available. I had told her I really preferred non-hospitality house. The second DVC person I spoke with was also quite confused as to how that could have happened. Anyway, I was able to change my reservation and hopefully that opens up the rooms for someone who really wants to be near the hospitality house.
