Hospital offer saved me $1,000 toward Disney!

So both my DH and I have had surgery in the last few months. After my insurance picked up their part, we were left with a bill around $2,700. The hospital/physician billing dept. called and said they had a promo going on this month. If I could pay everything off by the end of June, they would take 35% off the total. I did the math and it was almost a $1,000 savings! I just had a garage sale last week and made $525. I also had $350 in rainy day money. I was so excited that I called as soon as they opened to make the payment! The guy must have thought I was crazy to be so happy, but that is a lot of money towards our Disney trip! He actually said they had people NOT take advantage of the savings, thinking their was a catch or something. I look at it that I was going to have to pay it anyway, why not save some money.

nice-generally our hospitals give a 10% discount if paid in full 35% would have been amazing (we've had two broken bones this year, one surgery, numerous tests etc)

Our hospital is doing something similar for employees, they are offering a 50% discount if you pay your account in full. I had a bill for $100 and only had to pay $50.
