I have been to Universal several times now and keep missing the Horror Makeup Show. Is it worth taking the time to add to my one of my days planning or should I just plan on skipping entirely? Also is it too scary for children? What age would be appropriate? I have a daughter who is scaried of "Monsters" but I tell her its all just masks and makeup and that always seems to help. I dont know if this would help or frighten her more. If you guys think its too much I may see alone then judge my myself if she should see it later.

It is a wonderful show. It explains how the makeup and props are used in the movies. There is a scary monster at the end that might frighten her though.

My memory is going...don't they show films from Monster movies? The show is funny, my kids love it.

We never miss the Horror Make-up Show!

In the waiting area, they have props from recent horror movies. I wouldn't be surprised to see The Wolfman props added sometime soon.

For the actual show, there's quite a bit of humor included to entertain guests. Not only is it informative, it's also fun!

We love it and attend everytime we're at USO.

Yes. A couple years ago or so, there was thread here that talked about which movies were included in that film. Three movies that I can recall are "An American Werewolf in London", "John Carpenter's The Thing" and "Evil Dead".

We never saw the show till last year, and it was excellent. kept missing the times, and so much to do we never got till last year, definetly worth waiting to see.

I vote to see it at least once. It's more of a funny show rather than scary...and lots of adult humor that goes over the kids heads :rolleyes1

I love this show! (see my signature) It's definitely my favorite theme park attraction at this moment and probably the only reason I have my annual pass. ;) I've never even see a horror movie before and love it.

It really varies from kid to kid. I've only really seen maybe one or two kids scared and crying.

I think it's hilarious and it's especially good when you have some of the better actors working.

There are TONS of videos on youtube that show the show so you can get a pretty general idea of what goes on beforehand.

Saw it for the first time in December - I echo everyone else, definitely a must see. Funny and entertaining, not very scary, but a lot of fun.

Depending on your daughter's age, it might even help her get over her fears of monsters if she sees how the makeup and aniamontronics are done. I absolutely love the Horror Makeup Show.

my vote is yes.... you need to see it and i don't like scary movies but i found this to be funny and informative.....

We love this show, it's so funny. My DS (now 7) was 6 when we last went and is petrified of blood and gore and was adamant he wouldn't go in. While we were trying to decide what to do while the others in our party watched it, he suddenly changed his mind and said he would go in if we could leave if he got scared. I said yes (even though I didn't know if that would be an option) and he ended up absolutely loving it. He laughed the whole way through and only turned his head away once (when they do the 'arm' bit). I was so proud of him and even more pleased that it meant we could do this as a family in the future again.

We are definately going to catch this show in October.

I think we must have been unlucky with the timings, we always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time................but an effort will be made this year as it gets wonderful reviews consistently.
