Horrible Housekeeping at All-Star Sports

Actually, they can make the water disappear and they did! They are used to these problems and have pumps.
Yes, I understand that Disney can and eventually did remove the water. Ever have your house flood and have to pump it out (or worse, need the Fire Department to pump it out - into an already flooded street? But I digress). My point was, yes, you told Disney about the problem. Odds are they knew before you told them - it's likely you weren't the first Guests to inform them. They would have then had to get the pumps, place them, and start them pumping. If the water was up to your shins, that water is NOT going to disappear/pump away in an instant.

Actually, there was no such button as far as we could tell. Also, FYI, when we called the proper number (pressed button or whatever) for housekeeping we were re-routed to the Front Desk.
Okay, NOW I'm confused. There was no such button, but you pressed it?

not that its relevant or any of your business.
Good to see you have a sense of humor and recognize the ":teeth:" smiley for what it is.

I just want to say that I feel that you have gotten to the level of nitpicking and I'm not so sure why my experience at ASSp is so important to you but since you seem so interested, I will respond. Bear in mind that I spend a lot of time in hotels for business and pleasure each month (both expensive and cheap) and have a pretty good understanding of standards. My DH also works in the hospitality industry.

Nobody expected them to remove it that instant. We weren't being impatient about it by any means. What we expected was for them to be polite when receiving our complaint and not to brush us off. Furthermore, we expected somebody who worked there to be posted to the spot where this was a huge problem so that they could re-route people (especially those checking in with baggage and the elderly who had difficulty walking) around the giant puddle. This would have been very simple to do. All they had to do was remove part of the fence from around the pool that was under rehab at the time to open up a perfectly dry walking path.

Okay, NOW I'm confused. There was no such button, but you pressed it?

I said that there was no such button marked "LUGGAGE" on our phone. We did, however, have a special button or number for housekeeping which we used and our call still went through to the front desk.

Anything further?

well, back to the original topic--we, too had horrible housekeeping and we stayed at POR. They did nothing except make the beds. They never took towels or left new ones. I don't think they even cleaned the sinks or bathtub. It was pretty bad. Luckily we were hardly ever in our room, so we didn't get too upset over it--but you are definitely not alone.

I think that we had the same experience and responded in much the same way. We really weren't too upset about it either (although this thread is starting to get to me). But I still think it should/could be a lot better. Hence writing the letter. I guess you've basically summed up what I've been trying say all post.

Wow, why do you find it so hard to believe that maybe the resort just didn't perform at 100%? Why do you have to pick apart everything she says???

I returned on November 8th from a 7 night stay at Port Orleans French Quarter and my room was filthy!!! Also, the bushes outside our room had trash in them that remained there our entire stay. I left a pretty good tip everyday, but still got nothing more than my bed made. The room was actually pretty dirty when we arrived with mildew all through the bathtub grout, dirty carpet, dirty tiles on the bath area floor and crushed cigarette butts outside our door that also remained there all week with out a cast member cleaning them up (so much for their no smoking policy:rolleyes1 ). Oh, I almost forgot that there was also (and this is pretty disgusting) something resembling feces all over the base of our toilet when we first checked into the room.

Last year we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and we also experienced some problems there (one day our room did not get cleaned at all, no towels, no bed made nothing), but I think the room at AKL was a lot cleaner to start with then the room at FQ.

Also, to all the people who can only respond with "why didn't you call the desk and complain". I am sorry, but we did complain at AKL and it did not do a bit of good. All we got out of it was the manager ran us up some towels and we still got the same crappy housekeeping the rest of the week. I do not need someone to call and complain about me in order for me to do my job how it is suppose to be done and I think maybe Disney should hire people who have a little better work ethic.

Are there really buttons on the phone that say Housekeeping and Luggage? Geeze, my phone was caked up with so much dust I could not even see them.

When we informed Disney of this, we were brushed off as they told us that they already knew. However, it took hours after we contacted them for the matter to be cleared up.
If they were the first, or second, or seventh, party to inform the resort of the flooding problem, then, yeah, being 'brushed off' was poor handling. But maybe they were the thirtieth. Given that the hotel already knew the path was flooded, I'm not sure what reaction or attitude would be expected from your average human being without the patience of a saint - yes, even Disney Cast Members. And they WERE working on it. Whether it took a few hours to get the pumps in place, or the drains cleared, or the water actually removed, Disney was aware of the problem by the time the OP informed them.
I don't know the design of the All Star resorts - but if there was only one narrow path for Guests to get to their rooms, it's possible that the flooding affected some rooms. IF it did, Disney's first concern would be those rooms and the Guests in them. The OP suggested (here) that if Disney had removed the fence surrounding the work area, the problem would have disappeared. I bet she's right. I also bet that All Star Cast Member is qualified - or, more accurately, insured - to do ANYTHING related to construction.

You say that like it's a bad thing. But no, I don't work for Disney. My responses are entirely voluntary.

Now, THAT'S funny! Yes, I know, not to you...
